Well, we are finally married, and right from the start I have to say every aspect of our DFTW was perfect!
We did have some hiccups during our trip, only one being wedding related which I will elaborate on later.

Also, we lost my grandmother during the trip. She wasn't in the best of health for the past 3 months, and she insisted everyone went and didn't worry about her. She passed the day before we came home, and with the notice the hospital did give my mother, at 3 a.m, she had passed within 20 minutes, so had we been at home, we still wouldn't have been able to make it to the hospital in time.

So, I will be working on a trippie, but it's going to be a slow go for a while, this week is just hectic to say the least, with the funeral, and our at home reception on Friday.

Here is a tiny preview of some of our pictures.
I cannot wait to show you gals the Haunted Mansion pictures the photographer took of us as well. He was awesome!

Congrats on being married, your pics look great so far! I can't wait to hear about the Haunted Mansion! I'm also really sorry for your loss while you are away, my heart goes out to you and your family. I'm sure it's a bittersweet time.

Congratulations on your wedding! You picture sneek peek shows what a beautiful bride you are.

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother. You and your family are in my thoughts. :grouphug:

Don't worry, the trippie can wait while you take care of more pressing matters. ;)

Day 1
Friday October 19th

I woke up at the ripe old hour of 4:00 a.m Friday morning. Though I had done my third check of our luggage, I had to be safe and do just one more before we headed to the airport.

After my quick run through of the luggage, I decided I'd better wake up DD and Matt and get everyone motivated. My parents were on the same flight as us, so they were picking us up to go to the airport at 5:30. DD was so happy she wasn't heading to school and we were finally going to Disney World!

After getting DD dressed and with some breakfast, Matt and I gave the cats some love, and anxiously awaited my parents arrival. About 5:25 we were on our way to the airport.

Everything went smoothly from here to Orlando. We flew AirTran for the first time and I would fly with them again.
After touching down in Orlando, we procceded to grab our luggage and pick up the rental car, which was a Dodge Caravan. From there, we headed to the Orange County Courthouse to get our marriage license. The entire process for that, including the wait, was less than 10 minutes.
We were finally on our way to Disney!

We made it to All Star Music a little after 1 p.m and got checked in. This is where we got our first little sprinkle of Disney Magic. Upon check in we recieved the Just Married buttons, a rose for each of us, and a Magic Moments certificate.
Our room was ready, as was my parents. We ended up with connecting rooms, which we did request. Though it ended up giving us very little privacy, it was helpful to have everyone so close together.

Before heading to our rooms, we went right to the food court and got ourselves some lunch with our CS credits. Matt and I both had turkey and munster sandwiches, and I quickly found my favorite food court item. After stuffing ourselves with the yummy sandwiches and our first rice crispie Mickey heads of the trip, we headed to our rooms to unload the luggage. Amongst the luggage unloading, I made all the phone calls I needed to make. I ended up with a voicemail for all three, so I made a mental note to call back each of them and double check later on.

From there, we headed off to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping. My main "had to have" item of the trip was a Christmas ornament personalized with our names and wedding date, so I headed right to Mickey's days of Christmas and started my search. It didn't take me very long to find the just married Mickey and Minnie ornament, so I took care of the personalization and had it set up to be shipped to our resort.

After that we took a stroll over to World of Disney, and some pictures along the way.

We finished up our browsing, and headed towards the bus stops. We were catching a bus to the Grand Floridian for dinner at 1900 Park Faire. I was a little nervous about this dinner after reading some of the reviews, and quite frankly, I have to admit I wasn't all to impressed with the food. The step-family was great however, and I think that alone made it worth the TS credit.

After our dinner we headed back to the resort for a much needed rest. We were planning on doing Animal Kingdom in the morning so sleep was very welcome!

congratulations on your wedding! i'm so sorry that you lost your grandmother during this time, my thoughts are with you and your family!

you made the same shirt (your's is a tank) that i'm making!!! i'm glad it turned out so well!!!

can't wait to read more, but don't stress about it until your very hectic week is over!

OMG..TinkerFairy!!! Were you at Pizza Planet at Mgm on Sunday around lunch/early afternoon??

If so I think I saw you!!

Welcome back. Congratulations on your marriage!

I love the picture of your DH putting on your 'glass slipper'. Too cute.

I'm glad your day went perfectly. Can't wait to hear more :)

Rose - We sure were. I scouted out a table while everyone else waited in the 2 mile line for pizza.
I have to admit, I seen a LOT of lime green, but didn't have the courage to say hello to any of them! Though I did meet a lot of nice folks during the trip.

Thank you all for the well wishes.
Reliving the trip makes what we're currently dealing with a little bit easier. I'm not exactly happy it has worked out the way it did, but some things can't be helped. I think it's made things a little bit easier to cope with, though it's also made planning around the reception on Friday a mess.
We planned on doing the mass and procession on Thrusday, but it is All Saints Day, so, we can't have a Catholic mass or burial.

We are all upset, but this has been a long time coming, and we know she is in a better place, and no longer suffering. She told us before we left that she wanted to be alone when she went. She checked and double checked our wedding date and the date we would all be returning home, so in some weird way, it's almost as if she knew? She passed the night before we were heading back here.

It's a little bittersweet. The biggest thing for me is she didn't get to see the photos of the ceremony. She had talked about us bringing them to the hospital after we got home.
I am grateful to my aunt however, who had my grandmother handwrite our wedding card prior to her joining us in Florida.

I send my sympathy your way. Sorry about your loss. Congratulations on your wedding. The pictures are beautiful. How were you able to get "Tinkerbell" on one of your pictures with the caption "Where dreams come true." ? Try and get some rest...:grouphug:

That's so cool..I totally saw you! I noticed the design on your shirt as one from the CreativeDisigns board.

You were walking around downstairs where the games are. I was down there with my DD and DS. I wish I would have said hello now..but I just wasn't sure.

Guess I should've just asked huh??:goodvibes

BTW..in all my excitment about seeing you I forgot to mention how great your pictures look! I can't wait to see the Haunted Mansion ones.

I'm also very sorry about your grandmother. I am very..very close with my grandmother, and share everything with her, so I can imagine how hard this must be for you at such a special time in your life.

What a wonderful thing your aunt did! I know that means a lot to you.

Totally subscribing!! Can't wait to hear more! :goodvibes

Who was the designer for your dress? I really love that style!

I can answer that one for you. When you have PhotoPass and order your pics online, you can add *Tink* and the slogan to your pics before you print.

Hi! All of the pics looked so great. So sorry about your loss. I was wondering if Disney did your pics? I love the picture of your husband putting the shoe on your foot. Very Cute!!!! Can't wait to read more!!!

My mom actually took that as we were leaving the Grand Floridian after lunch. The carriage is parked outside the lobby area, and I had seen it our first day down after dinner at 1900 Park Fare. We made a note to do a "Cinderella" shot after the wedding, and I'm very happy with the way it came out.

We are waiting on our Disney pictures. I don't expect them to be on the site until at least the end of next week, but you ladies will be the first to know.

I can't believe how much you did on your first day there...I would have been asleep by checkin time... I am like you too getting up early to make sure everything is in my suitcase. I am glad you had fun. Sorry to hear about you grandmother.

Day 2
October 20

We woke up bright and early at 7:00 a.m to Stitch yelling through the phone. DH had barely picked up the phone before we heard it, and the phone was dropped back onto the base.
This being our first "real" day, I was eager to get a early start and finally get a ride on Everest. I went into "Disney Nazi" mode as DH so lovingly calls it, and we were all ready to head out a little before 9.
We headed down to the bus stop and anxiously awaited the Animal Kingdom bus to whisk us away. We waited....and waited.... 3 Mk buses, and 2 Epcot and MGM buses later, our bus finally arrived. By this time, it was around 9:40. I'm not sure what took the bus so long, but us, and the huge line behind us were happy it finally arrived.

Once we entered AK we made a not quite so mad dash at this:

When we arrived, it was down for a bit, so we grabbed some Fast Passes which were good at 11:30. We didn't want to roam too far, so we headed into DinoLand U.S.A.
Matt and I are coaster fanatics, our second home is Cedar Point, I swear I'd live there if they'd let me. I read some horrible things about Primevil Whirl, but technically it was a coaster, so we headed that way. Our daughter was just a tad too short, so my parents took her to Triceratops Spin and Matt and I hopped in a very short line.
We LOVED it. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard on any ride in my life. It's very tame, but the force when you whip around the corners had me nearly in tears from laughing. I walked off with a smile plastered on my face and told my parents to get in line for it.
Matt and I took Emily for two more spins on the flying dino's and we met back up with my mom and dad.

We headed into the smoking area closest to us and found this guy:
Florida022.jpg

We had great fun taking photos with him. Especially this one,
Florida024.jpg

(notice my NEW husband, Mr.Sauraous)
While we relaxed away from the crowds for a few, I tried again to contact Tanis and Carolyn Allens. I had gotten in contact with Janet from On-Site Beauty, so I wanted to close my loose ends up. I didn't leave another voicemail since I had left one the night before for each of them. I figured Tanis was busy all weekend and I wouldn't hear back until Monday at the earliest anyways.

From there, I made what is now known as one of the worst choices ever, to grab a quick ride on Countdown to Extinction before our Everest fast passes were up.
Now before you see my "redneck" picture, yes, I have rode it before, and I knew it was coming... but that doesn't mean I have to look at it :thumbsup2
My daughter hated the ride, not because of the dinosaur so much, but the loud noises, and the dark. She laughs about it now, but says she will NEVER go on that again, even if she lives to be 1000 years old.We had a running joke about if she mentioned the P word (pool) one more time we'd lock ourselves on Dinosaur and refuse to come off. The total P word count for our AK day was over 300, we lost count.
Florida025.jpg

It was finally time for us to head to the mountain and grab our train. Would our DD face the Yeti after her encounter with the dinosaurs?
Plus: A proposal from someone blue and fuzzy!
