We've just returned from our Christmas trip (18th-21st), here are our highs and (very few) lows:

HIGHS

1) Eurostar - the girls collecting their goody bags at Ebbsfleet really was the start of the magic. My eldest used her bag to carry her autograph book in the whole holiday. Also fantastically simple, fast journey :thumbsup2

2) Hotel Cheyenne - as great as ever, lovely Christmassy feel and decorations, fab greeting from Daniele on reception upon check-in who made a fuss of DD1 as it's her birthday on Saturday and I'd e-mailed to tell them! Chocolate coins and bottled water in our rooms, which were in a great position :santa:

3) DD1 getting a phonecall from Mickey wishing her Happy Birthday in City Hall and the CM there being so fantastic with her.

4) Meeting Belle in her village, and the fact there were lots of characters around in general.

5) Being able to go on more rides together now DD2 is 2 and a half!

6) Plaza Gardens restaurant - food and location!

7) Riding Autopia for the first time as the wait was only 15 minutes!

8) Princess Pavilion - okay so the queues were long but the princesses were amazing with my girls and the experience was well worth the wait each of the 3 times we went! On Wednesday we queued for an hour only to see Aurora who we'd also queued for an hour to see on Tuesday, so I told the CM and we were allowed to also see Mulan. They should've put loos in there though, when you're waiting for that long, a toilet break is inevitable for little girls and I had to take mine out then rejoin DH and my Mum, everyone probably thought we were pushing in

8) Disney Dance Express - personally I much prefer the old music and the meet & greet afterwards but the girls loved this so much we watched/took part 3 times! The highlight of the whole trip for me was Pluto seeking out my eldest (who had been waving her Pluto plush at him throughout) at the end and posing for a photo with her and DD2 (and nobody else)

9) Noticeably smaller crowds on Wednesday (rainy all day) meaning we got on loads more rides than expected.

LOWS

1) Dumbo being closed on our last day because of the rain.

2) No stops during Fantillusion on Monday (too wet and cold?) when we had a great spot!

3) Not making it to EMH. Found it very difficult to do with 2 little ones who were going to bed at 10/11pm and used to having 11 or 12 hours sleep.

4) Still not meeting Ariel - she was the other princess in the Pavilion when we met Aurora the first time :sad1:

5) Star Tours making me feel sick :sad2: (DH and DD1 were fine though!!!)

Our most magical trip yet though! Amazing! :cloud9:

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE INVALUABLE HELP AND ADVICE!

Hi...

It is always nice to read reports from people who were there the same time as we were :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a great time. I did wonder if the park was quieter on the wednesday as the weather was awful....

Shame you didn't get to meet Ariel....just means you will have to plan another trip! ;)

Welcome home, glad you had a great time :goodvibes

It is possible to do it on the cheap if you do have annual passes, drive over on the shuttle rather than eurostar, and stay offsite (that's what we do now) - it's not as magical to stay offsite but it does mean you can go more times! :thumbsup2

I think annual passes are the way to go if you do plan on going regularly - It's roughly the same price as it would be to go for a few days so if you only get 2 trips a year, you have saved on your park tickets. Also, the car park is then free if you then drive over (that I would say is a downside to staying offsite means you can't walk to the parks in the morning which we do miss)

Hope you are able to go again soon
