Aloha! I'm writing live from the Polynesian. I've never done this before, never taken my computer but now I work for myself so I have to.

Mini "Poly" trip report:

This is our first time at the Poly and we were a little nervous because we love the Epcot Resort area. But, we have been quite happy here!!!! Flawless check-in and great cast members. We're in Tokealu room 3927. At first we were in a room in Tokelau that overlooked the quiet pool which is being refurbished. And, it was loud and annoying so we asked to be moved and they were very accommodating. We now have a nice quiet garden view room in the same building and we love it. It's so close to TTC, the quiet Tahiti beach and not far from anything.

We met someone from DIS in the Magic Kingdom yesterday - DebbieTN. That was fun. She had her green ribbon and DIS member button on her lanyard.

We've only done the MK so far because we just arrived late yesterday. The park isn't crowded at all. Waits are typically 0-10 minutes except Splash Mountain. Space Mountain had 5 minute wait. We got a fastpass and didn't even need it. We covered a lot this morning and early afternoon at the MK. Winnie the Pooh, Philharmagic (EXCELLENT!!!), Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Country Bears, TTA...then we came back to the Poly to relax on the beach.

Well - ask any questions - I'll be glad to answer. We're off to explore the resort some more. Then to see Spectromagic and eat dinner at Artist Pointe.

ALOHA

Oh Im so glad things are going well for you at the Poly so far. Hope your stay continues to be a magical one. :D

Don't forget to take in Wishes from the Poly Beach, grab some loungers, drag over a cover if you need it (cold or drizzling) and enjoy! Absolutely amazing! And after check out Ohana's for dinner, yummy! We loved this, well worth the price. Our waiter was wonderful and if your celebrating anything special be sure to let them know. (You can request an incredibly tasty Mickey cake for this.) Have fun!! :sunny:

Thanks for the live report!! I'm so glad to hear you're having a good time and enjoying the Polynesian. If you get a chance, could you walk over to the Tuvalu building and check out the lagoon views for me?? I've requested the third floor and hopefully will be able to see the castle from there.

Have a wonderful time!!! :sunny:

I am glad to hear you are having such a wonderful time. I have requested Tokelau for our May trip. Do you think that you could try to find out how long the quiet pool rehab will be going on.

We are really excited about our trip, and reading your report will just add more fuel to the fire.

I'm jealous! Check the WXII12 website...according to Lanie Pope, we are getting @ 4 inches of snow late tonight/early tomorrow! And the board members that decides the changes to the school calendar in Davidson County are making me nervous! Looks like I won't be able to sneak down for even 3 days between now and June!UGH!!
We're Epcot Resort-area fans as well, and my DH said he would like to try the Poly sometime. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself...bring me back a tan(or Mickey)!! And a turkey leg.

AH...I did giggle a little bit last week as I did my "Live from the WL" post..all the people wishing to be me...now I know what it feels like...WAAAAA

That is so horrible! I'm very sad to hear that incident occurred at the MK. :(

Regardless, I'm glad you are having a wonderful vacation at the Poly! I will be there in 5 days (hehe:hyper: ), so I'm not TOO jealous... have a great trip! Be sure to keep us posted!

mariamouse :teeth:

I know you were nervous about your stay at the Poly, and frankly I was too since we are arriving in May. I am glad that everything is okay and now I feel a little better knowing you are having a first hand experience that it is okay! Enjoy your stay! Thanks for the update....I will look forward to more!

Hi Pam, we are also 'live from the poly'. We are in hawaii room 1520. The weather was beautiful today :)

Maybe we will bump into each other at the pool tomorrow, it is supposed to be 80. I will be with the 13yo, 5yo and 8 week old.

This is PamNC, the signature will say Uncle Albert - that's my husband. I signed in under his name.

Okay - I'll try to answer some questions.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Poly. In fact, it's my new favorite (BC was my fav). Uncle Albert says "they jury is still out" - he says it's almost a tie. But by the end of the trip I think he'll switch over. I don't want to stay anywhere else. I mean, Seven Seas Lagoon vs. Crescent Lake???? No contest. Love the views and the beaches at the Poly. I also think the CM's are fantastic. Everything I heard about that is true. I like the pool, it's not Stormalong Bay, but it's a close second. We like the underwater Hawaiin music. My husband likes the drinks in the Pineapple...don't remember the name.

Tuvalu request - I'll walk over and check out the Lagoon views for you and post again. We walked by there - I think you'll love it.

I'll ask about the refurbishment schedule and post again. Oh - they are refurbing Niue and Roratonga and the quiet pool. So if you're coming soon - stay away from those areas.

Didn't hear about that awful incident but I saw a lot of news crews around - that explains it. We didn't see that particular parade. Thank goodness.

The weather is nice - 75 or 80 by day and a little chilly at night. It's partly to mostly cloudy in the afternoon and sunnier in the a.m.

Aloha to my fellow DISer over at the Hawaii building!! See ya' at the pool. We'll be the ones giggling in the pool like two crazy kids. My husband goes down the slide continuously.

ALoha to all - I'll post again.

P.S. Uncle Albert rode Mission Space and loved it. I chickened out!!!!!

FYI for anyone watching WISHES while staying at the Poly; we were down over MLK weekend, and happened to be in the volcano pool while they were going on. The view was excellent, you could see right over anyone on the beach, and they have speakers under water, and they played the soundtrack for the entire show in the pool.
You have to be in the pool, and it helps to be right near one of the speakers, and dip your head in to hear it really well, but it was COOL.::yes::
The also play background music the rest of the time too.
