Landed just after 8:30am this morning :)

HIGHS:

Fantastic weather for majority of holiday (no rain at all for 12 days)
Short lines early on in the day
POR as lovely as ever and getting newly refurbished room :)
Meeting some really special friends
Food and Wine Festival, especially Eat to the Beat concerts and beer :)
Being solo and doing what I wanted to do
Harry Potter World
Flying PE in the 'bubble'
Some really good Photopass character photos :)
Nice meals at Boma and Yachtsman's Steakhouse
Quiet pool at POR
Magical Express service
Bus and boat transport - never waited long for a bus

LOWS:

Driving down to Gatwick the day before flight and getting stuck in a 2 hour tailback on the M23
Outward flight delayed by nearly 6 hours  - got to resort at 12:45am!
Last two days had constant heavy rain and strong winds
No appetite at all during the holiday - had to force myself to eat :confused3 Had 12 dining credits left on last day!!
Had a few days when felt a bit lonely
MNSSHP on the 27th was very busy
Dissapointed with Sanaa - one curry choice was very bland and felt I was being rushed (brought main course when started plate was still on table)
Coming home :sad2:

Welcome home Tim.:goodvibes

Sanaa was one of our fave meals, top of list for next year, I had Wild Alaskan salmon which was probably the best I have ever had. Others went for things with spice and they all really enjoyed, we didn't go expecting much though, so many people had told us we wouldn't like it so it was a pleasant surprise we enjoyed it so much, helped with excellent service.
Next year I am going to be mega strict about the pace I eat at, a couple of meals were rushed, Kona Cafe bringing desserts(and bill) while we were still eating entree. It won't happen next year, they will go back.
Glad the highs outweigh the lows, sounds like you enjoyed most of your trip.:thumbsup2

Welcome home Tim :)

Shame about Sanaa and some of your other lows.
Overall sounds like you had a great time :goodvibes

Welcome back Timmo. I can remember when you first booked your trip and it seemed like ages away! Best sort out another. :thumbsup2

Welcome back

Glad to hear that your highs outnumbered your lows - would love to read a TR if you do one ;)

Welcome back, one day I'll go solo too! Hope it was a great experience for you :D

welcome back Tim!!
sounds like a great time!!

i did a solo trip last year, so i know what you mean about the little bit lonely...
most of the time was great, but every now and then it was lonely....

Wayne, the way we got around the dessert thing - we never ordered dessert until we'd finished our entree....when i'm in a sit down restaurant, i don't want to be rushed....and besides, i'm not sure if i'm going to even want dessert until i'm done with the entree.. :goodvibes

I learned quickly, at 50's Prime time they used to take the entree order then come back with the viewmaster to see the desserts, this year she wanted to take order for entree & dessert, we told her we would wait.
Next year I will be ready for it. :goodvibes
OT, I am just eating Goofy Candy Unicorn pops. :cloud9:

Welcome home Tim, glad to hear you had a fantastic time:thumbsup2

Im voting for a TR popcorn::

Hello, Welcome Back. I'll be off to POR shortly. Just wondering if you requested a refurbed room in advance or was it good luck to get one?

Many thanks:thumbsup2

No, I didn't make any room requests at all - just left it to chance :)

Downside of having a refurbed room is they are a little way from the foodcourt and the closest quiet pool is being refurbed at the moment :)
