And ready to spill my guts! :)

I have so much to share...

I did Millionare....didn't even come close to getting into the hotseat! (like I had a chance LOL)
I did Alladin (pic to follow)...personally I like IOA's one fish...two fish better! :)

The Dolphiin was.....OMG!!!!! :) LOVED IT!!! LOVED IT!!! LOVED IT!!!! :)

So ask away....I got oodles of info :)

Start spilling your guts girl. Tell me about the room, I can get a Government discount there.

The room we had at the Dolphin was GREAT!!!

Roll in shower had its own lil cubby off the toidie/sink area...
MASIVE King bed...plenty of room to move around!!!
Glo will have pics from me on her S/D FAQ soon as I get her email and get the pics from the other computer :)

We had a WONDERFUL view from our window of MK fireworks....

The shower had different spray setting and the ability to slow and quicken the spray flow...
The all-important bolted-in show chair and bars....LOTS OF bars....
There was a low clothesilne string to run across for wet things...

The bed was huge and comfortable...PILLOWS ROCKED!!! soft and cushy...
My understanding in they are putting in new fluffier beds soon (DH saw this somewhere in the hotel)

Wow. Sounds like fun.
And I know what you mean about the Millionaire game. I think it is rigged because I got all the right answers put in as soon as the lights went on. It is fun even when you don't win.
So what makes 1 Fish 2 FIsh better than Aladdin? And how was it getting in the wheelchair car for Aladdin?

Sue we haven't been to IOA to ride 1 fish 2 fish (can't seem to leave Disney long enough), but we did Aladin in Oct. One of the purple carpet's has a sliding back door on it and they unhook the seat and roll it out. When they designed it they used their hospital type chair because Megan's footplate was too low to just roll on so she had to pop over the center section. But hey it's better then nothing.

Well I like the WAY you get into Alladin better than One Fish....Last year on One Fish I made a lil girl cry when I got my hand caught in the ride and asked them in a hoarse (cold) voice for them to hurry and get me out of the ride LOL

One Fish: a part of the car slides out side ways...then a ramp lets down (after tucking away the seat area)...you are wheeled in...and are slid back into the ride car...it has ver high sides thats why I like it......but the method for getting into the ride leaves alot to be desired after seeing Alladin...

Alladin: the back of the seat area folded down into a ramp...there was a sort of turntable that you rolled up in...the turntable was spun around where you faced front and the ramp was folded in behind the wheelchair..the up and down of the carpet was in the front seat with that passenger and the ability to swirve the carpet was in the back with me....who incidentally hates heights so the fact that there were practically no sides on that Alladin car made me ill....

So as far as access I liked Alladin....as far as not feeling like I was going to fall out of the car at a moments's notice I liked One Fish...

sorry in trying to post my answer my DSL died....so Michie answered what I was going to say LOL

Thanks for the explanation. I think Katrina would like it. She doesn't care if there are no sides, but I don't go on anything that goes in circles.

Just wanted to say WELCOME BACK!!! Glad you had a good time :) We also like the Dolphin a lot, so I know what you mean!!!

thanks Chris....I have nothing but compliments for the Dolphin and their staff!! :)

wheelsie,
Do you have an ECV? How did you get back and forth from the Dolphin to Universal? Can you give tips or pointers on that? I am concerned about transporting an ECV in a car - or with a town car service. Hard to do?

Sorry Puffy I can't help you there...I have a manual chair...

We took a rental car but mostly used the bus sysem and the boats....Just loved 'em! :)

Any one else have any thoughts?

I can't give first hand advice either since DD uses a manual wheelchair too.
Andrew Bichard a power wheelchair and has posted that he used the Mears Transportation company and also the Orlando city buses to get to places off site. Both have lift or ramp vehicles. The Orlando buses apparently stop at the Ticket and Transportation Center.
He also posted about a taxi company that serves WDW which has six or so wheelchair accesible vans in their taxi fleet and has more on order. They are Voyager size vans with a lowered floor ramp at the rear and wheelchair tie downs. Carry 4 passengers plus one regular size wheelchair or one passenger plus oversize wheelchair. I don't have the name of the company, but he posted a phone number (669 9999).

You can rent ecvs that break down into pieces for transport in a car trunk. The heaviest pieces are about 30 pounds.
