Back home at OKW!

Hey Diane, great report. If you get a chance, can you ask if the HH units will be done by Mid-March. We are scheduled to arrive on March 15 for a 7 night stay. Doesn't really matter one way or the other, but it would be nice to know up front.

Today I spoke to a couple of cast members who had a few rumors. One is of a 5th park. No word on what it is, but it is supposed to be between Pop and AK. Some have said it is in the 10 year plan.

Oh, and they came in and fixed our missing tile today! Great job too!

Our last full day and it is raining, raining, raining! We left the park yesteray just as the rain started and stayed in last night watching movies from Hank's rent and return. Today we are headed up north to the Villages to visit friends of ours who winter there. It seems like a better thing to do than fighting the wet parks.

Tomorrow we head home to the cold!

I love reading TRs. Thanks for taking time out of your trip to check in with us.

We loved our stay at OKW. The size of the 1BR was massive and the balcony was to die for. Great memories there. I'm hoping we can stay there when we book next month using our holding points from canceling when DH was so ill.

Does anyone know the link to the OKW map? Also, do you have to be an owner to request the HH area, and if not, how is it requested, by building numbers, just HH area, or what? Thanks.

We have been reminiscing about it too. Glad we did the cruise when we did. Our DD was 4 1/2 so we figured that it was our last shot at getting a Disney Cruise in during the low season. Now, a year later, she is in Kindergarten and we are subject to the Shelby County School schedule and we will be visiting the World in Mid March for Spring Break...

Hope that ya'll are doing well, added the pics below because they remind me of the trip. We spent so much time planning to decorate the door and that was one of the best parts of the trip!

Thanks for the vicarious pleasure. While I have lived in New England for almost 40 years now, I grew up in MN (probably why I don't live there now ) and know what a pleasure it is to escape the cold for a bit.

Our trip to Vero Beach is in 2 weeks and we're eagerly watching the warmer temps.

My parents live in the Villages full-time now and we will split our mid-March spring break between there and OKW. I have never had a HH location since we joined DVC in 2002, so I am hoping those buildings are done and we get our assignment as promised. If they call to tell me otherwise, I am going to ask for your Building #46 instead... have never stayed in that one and always thought it looked nice.

While I have always enjoyed OKW immensely, the rooms we have stayed in over the last year or two have been mighty shabby. It is so nice to hear they are completely re-doing units. I really hope we get a shiny new one.

Hope you enjoyed your day at the Villages (which my parents liken to "Disney for old people") and also your stay at WDW. Thanks for the info!

We were in the 2 bdr just above during December and loved the view.
We requested 46 or 55. We enjoy the canal view, the quiet pool and the close walk to DTD.

Full at South Point???? NEVER in the 12 plus years we have been coming here, have I ever seen a bus full anywhere other than Hospitality House (or returns after the parks close).

Well, we are back home to frozen Minnesota, but the weather isn't actually all that bad here today. It's 26 and sunny, so that helps.

I always hate that last day and having to decide what we do before we have to leave the parks.

We checked out of 4621 around 9 a.m. and got our bag checked and our airline boarding passes. Then we got on the bus to DHS and waited about 40 minutes to ride TSMM one last time. I finished with a score of 155,400. Not my hightest, but not bad either. Then we headed over to shop a bit and went to Epcot for the rest of the day. We rode Soarin' (50 minute wait), had lunch at Sunshine Seasons, and spent the rest of the day in World Showcase. We got to watch the French waiter's balancing act, and did the boat at Norway before heading out of the park around 3:30. As usual, the bus at that time of the day was late, but we were back at OKW and in our car by 4:10 and headed to the airport. I'm so glad they are finally getting that NWA part of the airport refurbishment done! For 2 years we have looked at bare insulationg in the ceilings, but now they finally have the ceilings done and new stone on the floor. Oh, and they have a new security check in system that works much better than the old one too.
