It was great!

Before the trip, I had Emailed Amy Jacobsen about having a Pal Mickey & autograph book in the room on arrival. She got back to me immediately and we set that up. She also wanted to know the names of the other guests, DD and my DM. On arrival, found Pal & A.Book plus a pen, autographed character photos for each of us and box of chocolats. Amy also called the next morning to make sure everything was there and to see how we liked the room.

The room was very nice. In room #5179 which looks right out at the dock and lighthouse. Basically same as BWI where we had stayed before. Mousekeeping was fine. Got towel animals only one day but that's fine. The turndown lady (unfortunately I didn't get her name) was very nice and left lots of chocolates for us. The only complaint about the room was the hairdryer. It's a box type thing with a hose. Bring your own!

Lounge offerings have been pretty much discussed on these boards. They do have beer that you can ask for and large bottles of water to ask for too. It was really great coming in from the parks about 3-4pm, so hot and sticky and grabbing a cold drink and snacks. Deserts were very good.

Theresa and Betty were very nice. Travis was really good to us. I had decided to collect resort pins from the resorts we had stayed at. The resort I could not find was the YC! Even in the YC gift shop and the parks. I mentioned it to Travis and he was on the computer and phone right away. We had to leave and when we returned a couple of hours later, Travis had a card for me. A signed character (Donald #1) picture and stuck in it was a YC pin. He said he had to call his friend Donald in the Magic Kingdom and Donald sent it over. It was really a nice thing to do.

Storm along Bay was nice. NO crowds. Checked resort keys 2 or the three times we used it but then only needed one key not one key per person.

After coming home 9/8, got an E mail from Amy checking to make sure we got home safe, etc.

It was just a wonderful treat and I really liked the Yacht Club. Didn't seem as frantic as BC. Don't know if I can aford to do this again for the entire trip but will consider a moderate or even value for a few days to justify a few nights on Concierge!

If any other questions, let me know and will try to answer

Sharon

Thanks for the report. I have been exchanging e-mails with Amy for our upcoming Xmas/New Year trip. We have 2 rooms booked for 9 nights. She is absolutely wonderful.

Do you think 9 nights would be a bit long there? Thinking about moving over to AKL concierge for the last 2 nights, not sure yet. We love YC's location.

How was the evening offerings between 5-7pm?

Thanks very much for any info you can provide.

Glad to hear you had a great time!

Everything sounds absolutely wonderful.

We just booked YC Concierge for next month and your report is making me look forward to it all the more.:D

If you don't mind me asking, did you initially get in touch with Amy via e-mail or phone?

Would you say that the lounge area was child friendly?

Thanks for your report:D

Lat, the 5-7 foods were nice. Dips, veggies, bread wedges (to use for dips) always out. Mac and cheese and PBJ always. Then usually a hot meat dish. We saw fried fish (big chunks)over a bed of french fries, a barbeque pizza that was really good, some sort of meat over homestyle potatoes. I think cookies were still out and sometimes a cheesecake or giant flan. There were several wines.

You'd need to decide whether 9 nights would be too long or not. I didn't get tired of it after 7 nights and enjoyed not moving this trip like we did on the last one.

floridafam, The lounge is nice as you've probably seen in pictures (if not got to www.wdwig.com) but there's a nice area with little chairs and tv for kids. There were no toys laying around but kids were certainly present in the lounge and seemed welcomed by the staff. My daughter's 9 and she didn't feel uncomfortable there at all.

I contacted Amy via e mail at about 29 days out. I had booked through DU and figured they might not contact me because I already had ps and used a travel agent.

Wish both of you a great, pixie dust laden trip!
Sharon

We've also been talking with Amy for out upcomming trip. She has been absolutely wonderful. We had some special requests because this will be my parents 30th Anniversary trip and she was wonderful about every one. This is a night and day difference between what we experienced with the concierge at GF. We can't wait. Thanks for the great review of your stay.

Does anyone have Amy's phone number?

We are booked next month and I want to start setting a few things up.

Thanks :D

Hi, I have tried twice to post a msg - hope this one works. You are all so wonderful. Wish I knew about you all before I booked our first trip to Disneyworld. So excited about our first trip to WDW!

I've been in contact with Tammy from the Itinerary Planning Office and she is WONDERFUL!

She arranged several PS's for me, gifts to be in the room when we arrive, a carriage ride and she is going to let me know if anyone cancels an Illuminations cruise.

We can't wait.:D

So happy to see my posts. Amy sounds great. I would like to add that Stephanie Macomber - YC Itinerary Planner has been helping me plan our 1st trip to WDW. She has been WONDERFUL! Stephanie.Macomber@disney.com I can't count the number of phone calls and emails she has sent me. Her ideas and extra effort are incredible.
