Well I am back from my four night stay at the Yacht Club Concierge, not exactly what I expected.

First, I really did enjoy my stay at the Yacht Club but there was a few things that dissapointed me. We requested a room closer to the elevators and the lounge but our room was not even close to it. The concierge lounge was okay, but not sure if it was worth the extra money. Breakfast was good and that was all we really enjoyed. We were not at the hotel for lunch/dinner, which I hear is the best. We did go to the Concierge Lounge for deserts which were good. However, I still don't think its worth the extra money just for the food itself if you don't plan on eating most of your meals there.

They were doing some remodeling or something to the outside of the hotel which blocked the view for some of the rooms. Half of the pool was closed down.

Overall I would stay at the Yacht Club again, but probably won't get concierge unless we plan on eating most of our meals there.

Any questions?

Just wanted to ask if you requested a change to your room when you saw the location? I put in my request for a good view and a full balcony, we'll see what happens. I am aware that they are re-doing the siding on the building. Someone had posted about it not to long ago. Between that and the SAB rehab it should be interesting. At least I know about it up front though. Just from experience at other concierge locations, the food service cannot replace a full meal. From what I understand they do serve a few hot items in the evening, but only snacks and munchies during the day. We do tend to spend a lot of time at the resort, so I'll see what they do specifically set out at each offering. I honestly think that I've gotten my money's worth by the work that the pre-planning staff has done for me. They have been excellent with all the requests that I've made.

Did you have any dealings with the concierge staff at the resort? Just wondering if the special treatment spills over onto them.

Thanks

The part of the pool by the Yacht Club with the sand bar was closed, the pool closer to the Beach Club was open..
I hope that answers your question.

No, I didn't request to change rooms. I know they were booked so I figured they would not be able to change our room location.

Yes, I did have some dealings with the concierge staff. They were great! However we didn't really use them for much pre-planning stuff.
