Hi!
Just back from 5 nights at Yacht club!!
We had a GREAT time!! But I have to say I noticed a slip in the cleanliness of this hotel now it could be because the room we were in (4th floor facing quite pool) was next to be redone,but boy was it in shabby shape!! I did get a cake in my room with ballonsfor our anniversary I thought was a really nice touch!! And the Cm are AWESOME!!!!! Not one complaint there!!
Overall I love this resort!! SAB was WAY crowded on Sat and Sun but on Mon and Tues it was DEAD!! Which was GREAT!!
If you have any ?? I I can answer fire away!!

Yeah, i've got a question.

How did the bus system work from YC? Do the BCV's make a difference in how crowded the resort is? Does the BWI construction impact the Boardwalk area at all? Did you have a good time?

I'm glad you had such a great time! I'll be looking forward to reading your trip report & restaurant reviews! A quick question: was it true that your room wasn't renovated yet? I thought that the renovations on the YC side started from the Concierge floor down! As a matter of fact, there is another thread on this board where a DISer was staying on the 3rd floor of the YC, and she was showing pictures of her newly renovated room.

Anyway, I'm glad you had a great time for your anniversary!

Welcome back and congratulations on your anniversary! Sounds like you had a great trip. How nice to receive a cake and balloons. I understand the CM's at the YC are very thoughtful. We will be celebrating our 16th anniversary at the YC and are very much looking forward to it.

I do have one quick question similar to one of the previous posters regarding transportation. How did you find the bus service to MK, AK and Downtown Disney? Were the buses crowded by the time they arrived at the YC? Did you have to wait long for a bus? Thanks.

Hi all!!
Ok Yes the room were NOT renovated. It was in really shabby condition. (4th floor facing the quite pool)
We did not have good luck the one time we tried to use the buses we waited for about 15 20 minutes (AK) so we left and got our car. Teh funny thing was AK was so empty that day!!
But we never used the buses again on the trip we walked to Epcot and we took teh boat to Mgm and drove to Mk and AK.
The boardwalk was underconstruction but I didnt really pay atention to be honest with you.
The pool area at Yacht club was underconstuction and it was a bit of an eyesoar but we still LOVE this pool
Again the CM at this hotel are the BEST!!

We were at the YC on Sat and Sun in a room on the 4th floor over the courtyard on the outside facing the parking lot...We didn't get anything for our anniv. I don't even mind... We had such a good time...
We spent quit a bit of time in SAB, we were the ones using the funoodle seats..We were bobbing around tossing a splash football and frizbee water toys... Boy did my shoulders get burned...It turned out to be a beautiful weekieend.....

We were just at the YC from 8/20-8/28 and I was the one who posted the pictures of my newly renovated 3rd floor room. The block of rooms right above us (we were in room 3175) were being renovated. They started banging right above our heads one morning at 8 am. We went upstairs to check it out, and the whole section was blocked off. I don't understand why they skipped a floor and went from the 5th to the 3rd. Aside from that, everything was wonderful. We love the YC!

Hey Libmil! We didnt go to SAB on Sat or Sun durring the day but was there Sat night!! (the pool was way too crowded those days Imo) We went to the quite pool but we were at SAB on Mon and Tues!Yes the weather was perfect for the pool!!
Idors8-I think its strange they skipped four also!!Infact when they said I was on the 4th floor I was happy thinking it was renovated! BUt like I said I still had a GREAT time!!

Glad to hear that you had a good time! Our family just LOVES the Yacht Club and will be happy to get back to it in November.

Isn't it true that the YC isn't stuffy? I always wondered how it got that reputation..???

Nope dont find Yacht club stuffy at all!!
Monte- I have know idea when it will be complete sorry You may want to call the hotel directly they could tell you! You will have a great tim,e!!

I think the Yacht Club acquired its "stuffy" reputation simply through its name. It conjures up the upper class ideals of the NE boating clubs that some of the Ivy Leaguers might frequent.

Personally I loved YC when my wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 98. If it weren't for our DVC membership we'd be there again in a heartbeat.
