We just returned from a wonderful trip to WDW!! It truly couldn't have been any better! I guess we left Atlanta with the fear that it will be very crowded and that we wouldn't be able to enjoy it much. but we were wrong!
Well, my husband's brother and his family are visiting from england and his kids are 9 and 6. And we have 6 yr old and an 18 month old. We all drove to WDW on the 22nd. Didn't do much except have a quiet dinner at the ASMovies cafeteria.
On the 23rd, we headed out to Animal Kingdom since we had reservations at the Rainforest cafe in downtown disney in the evening. There was hardly any crowd in the morning. We caught the lion king show as soon as we reached the park. Anybody who hasn't seen this show MUST SEE THIS SHOW. it is amazing. All the kids got to meet mickey, minnie, donald, goofy, brother bear without waiting too long (< 5 mins). We pretty much did most of the park except the Kali river rapids since we didn't have a change of clothes or a poncho. and it was cold later in the afternoon. We left AK around 5p.
My husband forgot to take the confirmation # for the dinner reservation. When we got there, the lady was like, we don't have a reservation for you!! But they got us a table near the bar in about a couple of mins, this is not in the main dining area. but it wasn't too bad though. The food was great!
Next day we headed to EPCOT. I think this park has the best rides among all parks. We all had a terrific time doing the test track, mission to mars, Soarin', spaceship earth. We returned to the resort in the afternoon. We had made reservations for Storytime lunch with the Princesses in Akershus (Norway). The girls had an awesome lunch! After resting for a couple of hours, we went back in the park to catch the IllumiNations show. It was fantastic!
We decided to spend Christmas day in MK. I am not sure if that was a good idea. But i have seen worse crowd in MK on a non-holiday weekend. It rained all morning. MK lost power around 10 am. The dumbo ride broke. it was quite bad. But I thought the crowd was quite good. I guess everybody was there to have a good time. The lines were really long in Fantasy land. We pretty much spent the whole day in Mk. We returned back to ASM after the Spectromagic parade.
We spent our last day in MGM studios. Again the crowd wasnt bad at all. Among all parks, i think the christmas decorations in MGM were better.
All in all it was a great vacation. The resort was good. The rooms were very decent. they were in Bldg 10 (toy story) and on the 1st level. it is very very close to the bus stop. And this was a blessing. I thank whoever mentioned this tip (to get a room in bldg 10).
I think we will definitely return to Disney during christmas next year!!!
have a happy new year y'all!!
