Just one word.....WOW!

I've seen the pics, have the screensaver, but nothing can capture how beautiful the Lodge is. Loved the theme, the large wooden pillars, the carvings, the fireplace like the grand canyon, the pools (even though the slide was broken the entire time we were there), the cms were wonderful; I just can't get over what a wonderful place it was!

Sun - we checked in 10am - studio - no welcome homes:( and room wasn't ready. We poked around the Lodge, had lunch at Whispering Canyon- very good - and at 3:30 the room was ready. It was room 1505, lock-off studio, pool view. Very nice room, very clean, it was much brighter than the photos. Our friends took the bed, and myself and my dd shared the couch, which was very comfortable.

Mon - Took a quick swim, the slide had a broken pipe (?) and wouldn't be able to be used for an indefinate amount of time. The main pool was packed with people, but the villa's pool was almost empty. We went to MK, the park was empty and the longest wait was Dumbo (about 15min) rode Space Mountain for the first time and loved it. Stayed until the end of the day and rode the boat home. The boat was there within 5 min. and everybody for WL, VWL and FW all fit.

Tues - MGM, Epcot - We took the bus to MGM and waited for about 5 min. for it to come. Another empty park, walked onto R&R. Not sure if I'll do that one again, a little too scary for me. We ate at Sci Fi and loved it. Took the bus over to Epcot (about a 15 min. wait). As we were waiting, noticed that every other bus seemed to be for Coranado and OKW. We stayed at Epcot for a couple of hours and then took the bus back to VWL. Waited for the bus for about 2min. Went back to the room, relaxed and then hopped the boat for Spectro. (the boat came within 5min.)

Wed - The Olympic swimmers checked into WL! We went to DTD this am. Bus was here within 5 min. Shopped for a few hours and then went back to VWL. The bus ride home was horrible. I swear the driver was drunk. He ran over a curb, sideswiped 3 trees by the entrance to MK, and turned so hard to the right to get into WL everyone thought the bus was going to flip (people were freaking out!). I went to the front desk and told them and they said that they would call the bus manager and take care of it. After that, we swam for a bit, my dd did the craft at the cub's den and then we hit Chef Mickey's and the MK for one final night. Again, the park was empty, ran right onto Big Thunder Mountain.

Thurs. Checked out of VWL - sandbags outside of the door, lights were tide down, and lots of other preperations were being made. The towncar picked us up and took us to MCO. It took several hours to get checked in and through security. We just made the plane only to have the plane sit out on the tar mat for about 2 hours waiting to take off. (Miami had to get all there planes out)

It was a great first visit, and I can't wait until Halloween to go back! I'm so happy the Lodge is one of my homes :teeth::wave2:

Glad you had a Wonderful time.We Love the VWL too.It is also one of our homes.

We were there but we stayed at BCV and we left out Thursday night. The parks were really dead this week.We never waited to get on a ride except Buzz.

Glad you had a good time!! And good to hear you liked WLV so much. We are sorta' partial to it ourselves::yes::

Thanks for your trip report! I sure am glad you reported that bus trip:eek:

I have a feeling that I will wish for add-on points at VWL once I see them. I already adore the lodge!!!

Glad you had fun::yes::

We stayed there for the first time in February and fell in love with this resort as well.

Wow...is exactly the term we used when staying at the VWL. It was beautiful and the theming was wonderful. Especially with having the ferry boats take you over to the Magic Kingdom, it's great for children.

It's our unofficial official 'home'. Although, we love OKW's style and spacious accomodations as well. But, you can't beat the theming at VWL. :teeth:

We joined last year, and though we had been to WDW a number of times prior - that visit is what really pushed us to join DVC. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge - but spoke with the DVC rep at the booth there - and walked through the Villa's area a few times.

We love WL, so I am sure we will love the Villa's too. We are thinking that our next DVC trip will be at VWL or BC. Our first stay was at home this may at SSR - but we want to hit them all.

Glad you had a great trip!!!!

***** How do you get a VWL screensaver???**********
