OMG....what can I say that hasn't been said already. The 1br. was great. Just having a kitchen and a washer dryer was perfect. I can't see us ever going back to a studio. We had room 2511 facing the pool. This area was very quiet. I think maybe we heard a person in the hallway once during the whole stay.
Let me first say that the only dissapointment in the whole trip was staying at the AS Sports for the first night. I figured that getting in late afternoon on a Friday did not warrent borrowing points from next year to do. Also I wanted to take advantage of the ME system. Staying offsite the first night wouldn't work. The resort was equivalent to a Motel 6. Hey, I don't want to come off as a snob but we had another family meeting us there and they had the same opinion. The resort was dirty, loud, walls seemed paper thin, the food court slow and the cm's less than enthusiastic. It wasn't even a busy time of the year. Can't see us ever staying there again. Are all the value resorts this way? I guess I expected better being that it's a Disney property.
Well back to our week at VWL. After heading over Saturday morning, we took off to Magic Kingdom. We had a great time there. I had We Go Shop deliver groceries while at the park. They shopped at Walmart and got everything on the list with the exception of some fruit. Great service, I would highly reccommend them.
Some of the highlights of our week were:
Lunch at Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Mama Melroses, Rain Forest Cafe, and the Brown Derby.
Dinner at Hoop de Doo, The Coral Reef and Artist Point.
Doing Star Wars Weekends and watching our friend's son do the Jedi Academy, doing a lot of the rides over again because of short lines, riding Saorin, and 6yo dd riding TOT and RRRC for the first time.
Spending a lot of time at the pools late afternoon and soaking in the hot tubs after a long day of walking.
Enjoying the tranquil lobby of the Villas and sitting next to the fireplace with my dd while rocking back and forth.
Dissappointments were:
The AS Sports resort, having time fly by too fast at the Villas.
Just one other comment, ME worked fine for us. The whole trip from the time we got off the airplane to the resort took about 1 hour. Very nice busses. We received our luggage about 2 and a half hours later. I would use it again.
Any questions, please ask.
I can't wait for our return trip in a couple years. This time we plan on having enough points accumulated to get a 2br and invited my mom and sister. Can't wait to treat them!
