Back from the Poly!! IT WAS AWESOME!! We got a HUGE surprise!

That is wonderful...I was in tears reading the excitement in your post. I am so very happy for you and I am glad your stay at the Poly was so magical for you!! :goodvibes:

WOW!!

We're going to stay Concierge at the Poly the next time we go...I'm interested to know about the details --- and if you went again - would you pay for the Conc. level? or would you go back to a reg. room?

I'm interested to know about the food - is it true you have to get there in the very beginning in order to get anything decent?

What "little extras" did you get that you wouldn't have gotten in the reg. room?

I'm very interested to "hear" more!!! and SEE more!!

Wow! Thanks a very nice, and exciting upgrade. I don't know what I would do if that ever happened to me. Very nice view too. Can't wait to see more pics as well.

I think I was hyperventilating right along with you while reading your report ! ;)
What an awesome suprise. Your kids are adorable.

I was hyperventilating, as well!

Except now I'm crying!

Oh my goodness! This story reminds me of all my WDW vacations. They were just simply magical. I was able to share WDW with my best friend on her first trip two years ago and everything was simply perfect! How exciting for you! :)

You can read my recent review of Polynesian Concierge. We most likely wont do it again, definetely not worth the money. We will just be happy with our garden view room. The breakfast foods never change. They are bowl of fresh fruit, bowl of fruit salad, mini bagels you can toast yourself, hawaiian bread, cheese danish, and cinnamon rolls I think. Milk, oj, coffee and juice and different cereals. (cant remember them all).
Lunch is not lunch, just popcorn and nuts and cookies. Juice, soda etc.
You must get there at 5 o clock or you will feel like you are staking out a table at a counter service restaurant. Food changes nightly. Only PB and J for the kids and we saw hummus and mini pitas. DH had the kona chowder one night and I tried the asian noodle bowl. They also have the nightly vegetable platter and cheese and cracker platter. They later have desserts. I cant comment on the alcohol offerings as we do not drink alcohol and the desserts we only had once but they were very good. We usually took the stuff back to our room. There are no trays if you are doing something for your family. We had the ds use the tray that was by our coffee maker.

oh my... FORGIVE ME! I just realized I never updated this post!!! I don't get email notifications any more (????) I thought I wrote this out, maybe that was in an email to you Lesley!!

I came back to this thread today because someone PM'd me asking what room # I was in and i couldn't remember.

just to fill you all in, (again my apologies for waiting soooo long!!! eeeps!).

We ended up coming back after our day at MK to the beds covered in surprises! There were two sand pails for each of my children, with their names on a card and the basket was filled with tons and TONS of crayons, and one of those coloring books w/ markers, princess for my dd and Winnie the Pooh IIRC, for my son. They each had tons of that Polynesian concierge hard candy in it and packages of snack foods like cookies and crackers IIRC. I will have to go upload the pictures, here tonight.

There were Mickey shaped towels and also on the bed was a basket of chocolates and a card w/ MY name on it wishing me a Happy Birthday! :cloud9:

There was tons and tons of chocolate in that basket. I loved the chocolate covered pineapple, YUM. I didn't open the basket though I waited a few days. LOL I wanted to preserve the specialness of it all. My poor dh... he said "hrump... what about me?" :rotfl: He didn't get anything LOL.

So those were the "other" surprises! I am so sorry to keep you all waiting for MONTHS on this! :sad2:

I had tears reading the heartfelt responses. I had no idea my posting made others tear up w/ happiness.

I also noticed that some of you asked a few questions. I will get back to those later tonight. I *promise*.

(Lesley can beat me over the head w/ a wet noodle if I forget, she lives near me IRL and can do that. ) :teeth:

ok here were the towels and the pails for the kids...they were on one bed...

And the chocolate basket for me was in the towel on the other bed:

Also one last thing, every night we'd come back to the room and my children's stuffed animals that they had gotten at WDW or brought from home were neatly and cutely arranged on one of the beds.

We had the best time and want to go back so bad! We are going to stay one night at the Poly this September to celebrate our son's 3rd birthday. It wont' be the MK view concierge, but it will be the Poly. :goodvibes We are happy just to be able to go back to celebrate his special day there. We love the Poly!!

Thanks for letting me update 8 months later!!

Wow!!!! It sounds like you had an amazing trip!!!! It must of been amazing to have been upgraded!!!! The surprises in your room look lovely!!!! :wizard: :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug:

That is absolutely amazing - It didn't see this post back in December, but I am happy that you added in your update so I could see it now. I am checking into the Poly Garden View in only 9 days. I already feel like I received a major upgrade since I was originally booked at the AKL and I was asked to move to the Poly for FREE (no upgrade cost) because of the construction. I can't wait.

I was lying in bed last night thinking about the trip and also we had one more thing happen WELL two now that I recall ... We sat down w/ the Poly Concierge to go over any ADRs. I wanted a print out of the ADRs I made previously at home and wanted to know if I could arrange an Ohana's dinner for the one of the nights we were there because I couldn't get a ressie up until then.

We did end up w/ one for Ohana's and we were thrilled but the biggest thrill was when the concierge gentleman asked us about the ADR I had already made months before for a lunch w/ Cinderella's castle. He said something like, so you are doing a lunch at Cindy's castle, why a lunch? And I said well I wanted breakfast but that was impossible to get. he said well do you want a breakfast? I said you mean do I want a breakfast ressie at Cindy's CASTLE??? I said YEAH! But how? And he said I have a reservation for me and my friends that I couldn't use so you can use it. :faint: So instead of the lunch, we got to experience the Cinderella breakfast. It was a bit different (more magical!) then the character lunch at the castle we had done the previous year. The kids got wands and the wishing stars and were asked to make a wish etc. My kids really loved that. I have pictures of them closing their eyes to wish but they each have one eye peeking open to see if the wishes came true. :)

OH! And the other thing was that we got to meet a certain Polynesian expert when we were there at the Concierge desk. He and his family were checking in. He took our picture and put it on his website!! :teeth:

Its really hard to go back after all of that!! :goodvibes
