Well we got back late last night- I think DLRP must be the only place where you can get soaked for most of your holiday and still say you had a great time!
Here's a few highs, tips and lows in case it helps anyone going soon!
Highs
The Park at Christmas is so beautiful- and it's simply stunning at night.
Shareholders Card- it really saved us a fortune- but be warned on a couple of occasions I was asked for photo ID so make sure you have some on you not to lose out!
Saloon Mickey- an atmospheric calm retreat from the wind and rain!
Dark Vader- we had a great encounter with him outside Star Tours- DS is now Star Wars crazy
Stars and Cars- what a fab parade the characters were interacting so well with each other and the crowd- great fun. The best place must be where we were- outside CineMagique.
Stunt Show- boys and cars- it's a no brainer! We all thought this was superb.
Parachute Ride- this has become a firm favourite- but get there for rope drop as later the crowds are insane- we thought ToyStory Playland was very well done
BTM in the Dark- first time we've done it at night- the giggles from the boys were priceless!
Fireworks over Lake Disney- They were amazing!
Lows
The weather- terrible wind and rain- the worst weather we've had at DLRP. Obviously this is beyond Disney's control , however it was frustrating to wait 20 minutes in a line without shelter for Mickey's Winter Wonderland show- the theatre was empty- would it have been so difficult to let people wait inside the theatre rather than in the cold?
Inventions- what a disappointment. Maybe we were unlucky on the day but IMHO there are better value buffet meals in DLRP- I'll do a review sometime.
Also where we were sitting was auful- if you go ask NOT to sit near the buffet. We didn't see many character and when we did it was a scrum which I didn't expect in Inventions. For us Cafe Mickey was the best character meal and for a fraction of the price.
The service was terrible, the CM'S couldn't be bothered.
Smoking- it really bothered me to have people smoking over the kids when we were waiting to meet characters.
As you can see more highs than low but honestly if you are going soon make sure you have thick thermal socks and waterproofs that cover your bottom just in case the weather is as bad as we had- umbrellas are annoying they're not practical and are dangerous- I nearly got poked in the eye by someone with a brolly a couple of times!
Also the studios are fab when the weather is crap/busy- lots of good shows.
I'll try and do some food reviews soon but our best meals were Walts, Cafe Mickey and Agrabah Cafe
Have fun anyone going soon and I hope the weather is kinder to you- but even if it's not don't worry it'll still be magical!
