Finally back into the real world routine after getting home from our 2/1/15 sailing on the Magic and a couple of days at WDW.

This was my 10th time on the Magic, but first since her re-imagining. The last two years we've sailed on the Fantasy. The Magic is as beautiful as ever and I really liked the re-done spaces. Very clean and sleek. Animator's Palette was AMAZING, the upgraded color transformation was incredible!

The cruise was awesome, great weather for the most part, enjoyed the ports and as always enjoyed everything on board! The shows were excellent, as were the entertainers. Also LOVED Jo the club hostess, she was soooo funny!

Back to the Fantasy next year, but will always have a special place in my heart for the Magic and look forward to sailing her again.

Any questions, we'll be happy to try and answer.

did you like your servers? if so, what were their names?

We liked them a lot! We had Tana as our server and Jana as our assistant. Very friendly and attentive.

Did you feel any increased ship movement compared to the Fantasy (smaller ship vs. larger ship)? Also, did your stateroom and/or bathroom show any signs of wear (as I've read on some other threads).

How was the weather and crowds at Castaway Cay compared to the Fantasy? We were on the Dream 2 Junes ago and it was crazy at the family beach. We rented a cabana this year but just wondered if it was a really worth the money or not on the smaller ship.

We also cruised the Magic 2/1. It was a last minute surprise trip for the kids. We had an amazing time. As far as the question on movement, we were on the Fantasy in November and we rocked way worse on that one. You couldnt walk down the halls without going side to side. I didn't notice much movement at all this time and our stateroom was forward. As far as castaway cay. It was more crowded for us this time because the weather was better. On the Fantasy we had a windy Castaway Cay day so that kept the crowds lower.

Do the staterooms have a refrigerator now as opposed to the old cooling boxes? Not sure if that change was made after the makeover. Thanks!

We were on the 2/1 sailing on the Magic as well, I upgraded us to a Concierge suite to surprise the family. Boy, they took Disney service to a whole new level. Amazing. We had Gede and Pedro as our servers (had them last April) and they are like members of the family now. Many tears were shed Saturday night and Sunday morning. They were bringing our table (we had 12 in our party) extra appetizers from other MDR locations every night. From platters of lamb chops to coconut shrimp to corn dogs for the kids. Can't say how much fun we had on this one, it was spectacular. The suites did change a lot since the re-imagineering, plus anything from the Cove Cafe was free for us - along with tons of extra surprises.

I've sailed both ships, the Magic the most, didn't notice any difference in the movement. We had pretty calm seas though I kind of like the ship movement, reminds me we're on the sea and not just at a hotel

The weather was pretty nice, a little cooler than our past cruises, but coming from freezing temps on the northeast, it was awesome to lay in the sun!

The island feels very uncrowded when there on a classic ship, but I never found it too bad on the Fantasy either, but we use the adult beach.

sorry, didn't finish the question. Our stateroom was in excellent condition. I've sailed the Magic since 2002 and have NEVER felt she was worn out or left to fall apart. I loved the new beds and everything in our stateroom was in perfect condition.

I'll take you up on your offer with two questions.

1. How cool did it get on the ship on deck at night? Shorts or pants weather? Our last cruise was to Alaska and we packed for cold and rain and got both! I'm starting to think that I may have misguided thoughts about how warm it will be.

2. I'm also wondering what to use to carry stuff on sightseeing excursions (no water sports). Again I'm wondering if I'll need a "wrap" of some sort. It's SOOO hard to imagine warm when we haven't seen temps above freezing in days.

Thanks.

on the prince and the princess menu do you remember if they served turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes?

I noticed the menus on this night were different on the fantasy and dream - turkey was served there but wasn't on the magics menu. I really love this dish and hope I can get it when I sail on the magic March 8th

We were in Palo for that night, so I can't say. So sorry.

Do you have any Navigators? Any tips re: dining rotation? Any dishes not to miss?

They aren't in very good shape. No tips for rotation, I pretty much take what we get, there are always pros and cons to all of the rotations. I enjoyed all of the selections, generally I try to order things I might not usually order, cause I can always get something else if I don't like it!

We were on the Magic for NYE.
Didn't see any wear and tear. Thught the ship was beautiful.
I was going to Baltic this summer but DW is worried about traveling to Europe with all the stuff going on.
So we will be on the bid ship this summer and next Feb.
As far excursions My DS(20) and his GF(20) did the Amazing race in Jamica . They liked it but not worth what the charge like $175 if I remember correctly. Not really up to the writeup which I haven't look at but hopefully they updated it.
We also did the stringray sand bar excurison in Grand Cayman. We chose it cause they people traveling had handicap young adult and it was accesible. It was only $49 a person but it was great. Crew was great water was beautiful.
I love the magic . Our servers were going on vacation. It also sounds like it is different Club Host.
