We just took our third trip to WDW in 13 months, first time at the Fort. We stayed in the cabins from the 20th - 28th and had a great time. 
We are already planning our trip to the Fort for Christmas 2014. The cabins were perfect for our family and we enjoyed having a tree up inside and decorating outside. If you were there, we were the crazy family with the blow ups in the 2700 cabin loop.
Next year we are going to get more serious about golf cart decorating
My husband has a plan 
If you want to "hear" the details of the entire trip, I've started a thread in the Trip Reports section ... WDW at Christmas ... Four Kids ... No Whines ... No Lines ... No Worries.
The Fort is very family friendly, it was nice to not have to worry about waking up the people staying above and below us
You know how that is with kids
