Just got back off the Dream and my initial thoughts:
Boarding - process was delayed because the computer system to make the key cards crashed. We were kept at the waiting area in the Orlando airport. Our group was also told that it would be at least 2 hours and that we could go into the main airport area to grab a bite at a restaurant. Good thing one person stayed behind in the waiting area b/c we got a call to return within 5 minutes of leaving. Disney sent a ton of buses to move people to the port. Upon arrival, buses were stacked for about 20-30 minutes before reaching the unloading station. To Disney's credit, I thought they managed the process as best they could. Security was quick but we were fortunate that a cast member 'quietly' ushered us to the concierge area for an expedited check-in and then through the side entrance to the main hall.
Food - I'm pretty basic but the rest of my group likes variety and they were pleased with the buffet and the main restaurants. There is still confusion with people forming the traditional serving lines vs. the station concept in Cabana's. I'm one of the few that was not as impressed with the new Animator's Palate as I thought I would be. Still neat though. Some others will really like the Turtle Talk feature. The other two restaurants were solid.
Kids Club - outstanding. My kids loved it. Loved going. Rarely ready to leave. Provided for a nice break for the Mrs. and I.
Lounges - really cool. They didn't seem busy the entire trip but maybe I went at the wrong times. Wish I was at 687 right now watching March Madness.
Main pool areas - enjoyed except until late morning to late afternoon of the day at sea and then it's total chaos. We put kids in the clubs and enjoyed the adult areas at front of the ship.
Adult area - pleasantly surprised how much space is dedicated to this area. Really liked it. We utilized the entire front part of the upper part of the ship. Some older kids here and there in certain family zone sections but totally different atmosphere than mid-ship.
Shows - we skipped Golden Mickeys. Villains was so-so. Believe was outstanding. We went 20-30 min before show time and got great seats. Movie setup in the Buena Vista Theatre was nice - seating, sound, etc.
Rooms - cabins are similar but few changes seem to create a lot more space.
Service - effort is there, execution is getting there. Working out the kinks.
Aquaduck - it's neat, recommend going in the morning before the crowds hit. Not sure it's worth more than 10-15 min wait.
Castaway Cay - same great experience. The island can handle the increased crowds. Pelican Plunge is a nice addition. Other changes/additions we didn't see.
Overall - most things on the Dream were better than Wonder but not as much as I expected. I thought the sail away and Pirates parties atop the ship were better on Wonder. Crowds were overwhelming at the pools on the day at sea. Otherwise, don't really notice them that much.
