It was our first cruise, and we LOVED it.....
My girls are 6 and 8 and really enjoyed the clubs.
Embarkation and debarkation were so easy, there was no one in line when we arrived at 10:45, we checked in, then stood in the line for boarding at 11:30, were on the boat by noon.
They were trying something new at the port, we could pre-register the kids for the clubs, which worked out very well, we got our beeper, and then first time we checked them in, they got the wristbands.
We had cabin 5022, which we loved, great locations for the girls. We had late seating PTA, the food was terrific, our only disapointment was Palos, I know that a lot of people will not agree with me, the appetizers were great, my husband had the pasta arrabiate which was OK, I had the tuna, which was very bland, and also a side order of the seafood risotto which was awful, completely undercooked, I asked to try the wild mushroom risotto same thing.... The waitress told me that they had a lot of complains, the chef came to speak to me, and told me that is how it is cooked in Italy, well I grew up in France at the italian border and this was not al dente, it was just not cooked......
Oh well, the souffle was to die for....
Castaway Cay took our breath away, we just had a great time.
We also were the in-dining family for the cruise, and got a plate of cookies every night.....
I cannot wait to go back.....

That's awesome that you were the dining family of the cruise! A plate of cookies would make me very happy!

Also sad to hear you didn't enjoy Palo as much as you had hoped. We've been on 2 Disney Cruises and have yet to try this restaurant. We're hoping to give it a shot in December.

Welcome back! Time to plan another one!

So happy to hear you had such a great time on your cruise. I was wondering if you could tell my what the "dining family" of the cruise is, and what are the perks? Thanks

what a great idea to be able to register for Oceaneers at check in...always our least favorite part of the "ressie scramble"

Wintergal, Being the "in-room dining" family we got a plate of cookies 1 night, a plate of strawberry dipped in chocolate another night, and another plate of cookies, we also got a note saying we had been selected as well as a certificate the last night, and postcards, and 2 mickey trading cards. It just was fun, and we felt ery special. Of course, there is so much food on the ship that you hardly need more, but my girls loved it.....
And yes I am ready to start planning our next cruise, we really did all love it.......:jester:

Oh I hope they continue the Kids Lab check in before boarding. That is a great idea! Saves time once you are onboard and want to just enjoy the fun!!!!

Thanks so much for letting us know about this change so we are prepared in 4 weeks when we sail.

Christinou: Thanks for the reply. That sounds like fun! My kids liked the cruise so much too. When given the option they hands down would choose to cruise again.

How did you get chosen to be the in-room dining family? Was it a random thing? Did you have to sign up? This is the first time I heard of it. TIA

Stimpy, I have no idea on how we got chosen, and I had never heard from it either, we just felt "special", but we really did not need more cookies.;)
