Back from sunny Devon

And it was sunny for most of the time We did get some strong winds and a bit of rain but it didn't stop us doing what we wanted. The rain was mostly during the late evening and during the night.

It seems the south coast of Devon and Cornwall got the worst of the weather.

Hi Natalie,

Right, directions to Gatwick via the M40:

Take the M69 towards Coventry.
At the end of the M69 keep straight on, onto the A46.
Follow the A46 (does change to the A45 for a short while after the large Ryton roundabout), until to get to the M40 roundabout (just past Warwick).
Follow the M40 down until you get to the M25(J16).
Follow the M25 until you get to the M23(J7). Follow the M23 to Gatport Airwick

There is a nice service station near Oxford on the M40 if you need to stop on the way.

We're just off to Nuneaton Asda to get some much needed supplies.

And, as usual the boiler has decided to die - always happens when we go away
Have tried the usual things to try and fix it (the pilot jet usually gets blocked) but no go
Just checked the zone valve and it seems to have burnt out and blown the fuse to the boiler electrical supply! So will have to get a plumber in next week to look at it

At lease we still have the good old immersion heater for hot water and the gas fire for heat
