We just returned from an awsome WDW vacation!!!! We stayed in AB...Bldg. 18 on the 2nd floor. Our rooms were great. Mousekeeping was great. We had a great location. The only downers were AK (too hot and crowded!!) and how about just crowds and heat in general. I know, typical for FL, but you put them together and YUCK! POR was a wonderful haven though. The landscaping is beautiful and the main pool was terrific. My kids loved the water slide!!
I will say that CMs in the food court are slow as molasses!!! Very nice, but so slow! Even during busy times!! That's my only complaint with the resot though. We loved it!!!

Glad you had a great trip! We stayed at POR in May. Loved it! I have to agree with you on the food court cm's! It took forever and a day to order a pizza, and another day to actually get it! Other than that, a wonderful resort!

Hi and welcome back! We are going to POR in two weeks. I just wondered if you noticed a jacuzzi anywhere or at the pool area?
Did you find the beds to be comfortable? I heard they are hard as a rock! lol! Any Mickey waffles at the food court?

TIA!! We are getting so excited for our upcoming trip to POR!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Yes, there is a hot tub by the main pool. Personally, I found the beds to be comfortable. I slept like a rock all week. Then again I was exhausted from long days at the park. I don't think there were Mickey waffles in the food court, but the french toast was good!
Have a great trip!! Drink a lot of water!!!! We brought Brita water bottles and filled them up constantly!! Also the spray fans were a godsend. It gets so hot in line. And fast pass everything you can!!!

I'm so glad to hear you liked the POR so much! We are staying there in November for the first time and now I can't wait :teeth:

Breakfast in the food court was surprisingly good! I didn't notice mickey waffles, but my ds9 had french toast and loved it. Word of caution...if you are traveling with a child with a larger appetite, the kids meals were quite small. Just one piece of french toast, cut in half and two sausages. He ended up with an adult meal the second time we had breakfast there. They have a very yummy croissant sandwich...eggs, cheese and sausage I think. It was quite good!

Boatwrights was good for breakfast if you get a chance to eat there. We didn't like dinner very much, but breakfast was very good and service was excellent!

I also highly recommend the cinamon rolls in the food court. My kids loved them. They are huge, so they split them and a banana. I also recommend the refillable mugs. If you are in a bldg. close to the food court, you definately get your money's worth.
We also ate at Boatwrights for dinner one night and everyone (there were 9 of us) loved their food. My dh especially raved about the jumbalaya and my mom loved the crab cakes (appetizer).
We went to the pool several mornings and my kids loved it!! It wasn't too crowded until around 12 pm, which is when we would head back for showers and lunch and then head to a park.
As you can tell, we had a GREAT time!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the resort.
We will be staying there after our stay at SSR, I requested AB buildings 14 or 15. Of course on another phone call, the CM I had said because of our party size we probably wouldn't get building requests. :( We'll see................................................

How did your strategy work for the parks?

I was actually thinking of swimming morning, then heading into the parks in the afternoons.
Hoping people will be leaving the parks dead from the heat!

Were lines still busy? Fastpass available?
Any hints/advice you could give would be much appreciated.

We survived Easter crowds, but I am still nervous about this trip!

MK seemed to always be crowded! But, with the number of attractions that have FPs there, it was definately workable. The most difficult part is when you first get there and have to wait for your FP to become active. After that we cruised through. The best FP is Thunder Mountain. It moves very quickly. Also, Peter Pan because the line without FP is excruciating!!
Definately the toughest thing is the heat. It is HOT and steamy. I suggest the Brita fill n go water bottles. They have a filter in them and you can get a cup of ice from any counter service. We filled them constantly!
In the heat, you really need a break even if it is just in a cool restaurant. We found ourselves dragging by about 7pm. The only evening show we made it to was Illuminations. Well, and Fantasmic, but they ended up cancelling it :( supposedly due to a coming storm. It never came!! Anyway, dh and I decided next time we will definately take a pool break in the middle of the day and a nap to head to the parks in the evening. At least on days we want to see the shows.
Have a great trip!!!!!

We were at POR this past weekend and loved it too, as always. It was blazing hot though. We only lasted about 2 hours at AK and had to leave. Definitely do the pools or a water park during the day and the parks in the late afternoon and evening. Take advantage of the late night hours at MK!

And I definitely agree about the cinamon rolls. Yummy!
