We just got back late Saturday from a great stay at POR. After staying here, we will never go back to a value resort. We loved it!
We were in Alligator Bayou 3811 & 3812. Very secluded and quiet rooms and about a 5-7 minute walk to food court and close to the main pool. We were also near a quiet pool that we had to ourselves. We rarely saw any other guests in our area.
The bus service was fabulous. We used the North depot and never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus. Never had any problems getting a seat. Only problem we encountered was when we tried to get a bus to the Magic Kingdom one morning from the South Depot (at the main bldg) Very crowded and had to wait for 2 buses before we could get on. After that, we only used the North Depot.
We took the boat to Downtown Disney and really enjoyed the trip. Little or no wait in either direction. Nice ride but not for those in a hurry to get somewhere. The second time we went, we drove. Got there in 5 minutes vs 20 on the boat.
Food court was fine. Average quality at Disney prices. The only time we at breakfast there, the computers were down and we had to stand in line 20 minutes to pay for our food. Portions were huge and we easily shared most meals.
As far as renovations: Bldg 35 (or was it 36) is currently ungoing renovation with the rest of the buildings in the 30's being done next.
Any questions?
