Back from Pop Century and I already booked another trip.

We will be going there from Nov 24 to 28 2004. Thanksgiving trip just me and my DD right now. I will be letting the family know so I am sure they will be coming along, in their own rooms though!

Thanks for your excitement! We are there Jan 16-18. We have never stayed at a Value Resort before, but it is just DD and myself so we thought we would try the newest one!!! We are really excited. How comfortable are the beds? I know they are brand new, but are they very hard or somewhat softer? What building did you stay in? We have booked the preferred building, we are travelling with our neighbor who had knee replacements, and long distances sometime bother her. We hope the theme agrees with us!! We are used to Home away from home resorts, and are a little trepidacious about this one.

But it's still Disney!!!!!

We were original guests this week. This resort is awesome. The beds are very comfy,not hard at all. The pillows are brand new so they are still very fluffy. The gameroom is really cool, lots of games. Can't say anything bad about this resort. Mousekeepers left us many towel animals in our room. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!

This question might sound strange, but how high up are the beds? Our last trip we stayed at OKW and I swear the beds felt like we needed a ladder to get up on them. (My two year old would be sleeping in the bed if we went but not if they're five feet above the floor). Just wondering to know
whether to pack his crib mattress or not.

how high up are the beds?

They are not high up. They are normal height. And they even lowered the height of the nightstand and light switches so that you can easily get to them when you're laying in bed.

PLUS the remote control keys glow in the dark for when that pesky litte thing falls off the bed.

I felt the beds were very confortable - somewhat firm but not hard. Each bed had two pillows, plus there were 2 extra pillows on the closet shelf. The TV was in an entertaiment cabinet with shelves on the sides and drawers underneath, and the TV was a good sized one. There was a table and 2 chairs plus the 2 beds and nightstand with the phone & alarm clock. (I understand they will bring a coffee maker if you request it) The lavatory sink was in a counter outside the bathroom and there was a safe in the closet area (not a closet but a hanging rack and shelf), plus a folding stand for your suit case. There was a ironing board and iron on the wall. All in all, it was a great deal, I thought.

Your description sounds much like POR, Alligator Bayous , which we really like. Anyone know what the real difference is between Value and Mods? More square footage?

We just got back from Pop Century last week and have stayed at Port Orleans the previous three trips. The rooms at PO are a little bigger (i.e. getting my large suitcase out the door with the one bed nearby was a squeeze) and there are two sinks at PO with only one at Pop Century. With the two sinks, at PO the shelf and hangup area is a little bigger too. The bathrooms seemed about the same size. For this short trip PO was twice the price of Pop Century. It has a different ambience, Pop Century is a lot brighter and not as calm as PO but we really enjoyed our stay.
