Back from our amazing trip -Any questions?

Hello all,

At the weekend me and my girlfriend returned from an amazing trip to Orlando. We spent two weeks out there.

Flew out with Virgin Atlantic, checked in online for the outbound flight.

We were based at the Quality Inn International on I-Drive and then also spent two nights at the AKL after renting points from a DVC member.

Visited all the parks including Disney, Universal, Seaworld, water parks etc. Didn't do Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove this time but we have done them before.

Spent my girlfriends birthday at the Animal Kingdom and got the gift card with $79 on it which was spent in World of Disney. On the last night we went to MNSSHP...Amazing!!!

Visited most of the malls and ate both at parks and off site.

So there you go, if you have any questions about anything we did that might help just post them and i'll try and answer as many as possible. I'll get round to writing a trip report and posting some photos soon....now back to work

What off site places did you eat at? I think we may hire a car for part of the holiday next time we go and would like to know what's good in the area. Did you eat at chains or independant places?

Also can't wait to hear about your stay at AKL - hope it went smoothly!

I would definately recommend hiring a car, it's so worth it! And we had absolutely no problems with Alamo through usrentacar!! They tried selling us an upgrade and kinda wouldn't take no as an answer and were a bit pushy with me girlfriend but once i came over and said no and explained that i used to work for National (who also own Alamo) and that i don't want to spend another penny they soon moved on lol.
As for restuarants off site we went to a few on I-Drive including Ponderosa, CiCi's and TGI's. Ponderosa was recommended to us but i didn't think it was all that, the steak wasn't near as good as at Hard Rock in City Walk and the rest was just a bit average. Although it was alot cheaper than Hard Rock it wasn't much cheaper than TGI's which we also enjoy. TGI's had a slightly different menu to over here but if you don't enjoy it here you'll probably have the same experience over there...However we enjoyed there Jack Burgers/Chicken Sandwhiches which are on offer at $5 each (STEAL!) although it doesn't say this on the menu there is a tv ad for it and it did come up on the bill at $5. CiCi's was just what you would expect from a pizza buffet i suppose, if you go though make sure you pick up a voucher for a free buffet.

Yea i'll post a link to my report on here so you can find it. I'm holding back the temptation to look at ALL our photos on the photopass for now as i know we're going to want the CD! I've got to transfer some photos over onto our Halloween Party Photopass incase we want some prints but i think we'll want them all on the CD! lol

AKL was amazing!!! Having never stayed on site before this was a great place to start, i say start because i will definately be doing it again. It's great to have a luxury hotel to go back to after a full day in the parks. You can't really beat a Disney holiday...you can get a luxury hotel, amazing theme parks and water parks and great service. There was always something wondering past our room including zebras and giraffes, the hot tubs were a great way to end the day in Animal Kingdom, and if you rent from a DVC member you get all the perks of DVC like free valet parking, restuarant discounts etc. Highly recommend it.
