i'll pencil you and the Mr in on the calendar.
RIP tour again??

did you have the baby yet?
need details.......

Yep! Me and the Mr. It'll be the big family trip (with grandparents aka baby sitters!) so we are definately planning on HHN's. Unless the family overrides our October choice and we end up going the first week in December. But we are pushing for October.

Here's the brat! :rotfl:

next year is '10
she'll be back in the hhn mode in '11.

who knows, she might do hhn sooner than planned. :rolleyes1

We do local haunts on a regular basic and we've noticed that activity level decreases when it's hot out. Maybe it's the same at Universal.

I'm so glad to see that the Monster Cafe was open. Yay!!!!

nay..........too many die hard addicts like myself need to get their HHN fix no matter what the weather is.

i have been going the last 10 years to HHN.

there have been some years it was hot and humid the entire night.
the weather didn't scare any peeps away.

a few years back when the hurricane hit, i was at hhn.

it only slowed down the crowds on that saturday night...

When we got there on saturday it was closed, then it was open for HHN. You would have to check with people who were there all day but it looked to us like they open it just for HHN.

MORE PICS PLEASE EVERYBODY!!!! :worship:

Macraven, I think it was, you posted your photobucket, but when I clicked on it, there was only one pic of the back of someones long hair? :confused3 It could be my browser or something not letting me access it, I don't know, but I definitely wanted to check out your pics.

:rotfl: yup that was me. jonny duck is helping you out with the second pic in case you missed it.

Dark Marauder joined our group on the sunday night before columbus day.
he was taking pics of homies.
i didn't want my pic taken so i told him he could do a pic of me from the back, which basically is only long hair.

he posted it on the boards last october and when others started posting group pics, i was in those also.

i gave up.

my pic is all over the place.......

for those that have thought i was a dude, they now know i am a dude-ette.
you wouldn't believe some of the pm's i would receive thinking i was a dude.

my hair is longer this year.
i get it cut about every 4-5 years and donate all of it to Locks of Love.
the Cancer Society uses donated hair to make wigs for children up to age 18 that have lost theirs due to cancer.

i know i can do walks and help with fund raisers but like to give more of myself to help others.

hair is what i willingly give.

next haircut will be after hhn this year.

OK I finally got A chance to do my take and rate of opening nights houses and scarezones. Here we go:
Houses
Chucky-I didnt think I would like this one but it turned out to be one of the best house we did allnight.Good scares, and pretty funny. The music outside helped alot.I think cast B rocked.---4 skulls out of 5

Silver Screams-Has alot of potential but does'nt really deliver.Dont rite it off allitle fine tuning is all it needs.2skulls for now

The Spawning-The funniest part of the night cause I was in the leed and got lost several times. There was A TM in the corner with no flashlight and she scared the H*** out of me.Way to dark and foggy to see everything.I still give it A 3

SAW-This was the one I was waiting for and it delivers. Both cast A & B were great. You realy feel like your in A Saw movie..A must see!! 5 solid skulls

Leave it to Cleaver-I liked this one. From the smell as you first walk in to the funny ending. And yes its got some gore to it.3.5 skulls

Frankenstien-What I will say about all the sound stage houses, excellent theming and props. From the moment you walk in you feel like your in the mad scientists castle.Very well done house. Both casts were great.I really dont want to give any spoilers on this.4.25 skulls

Dracula-Another sound stage house. When you 1'st walk in youre gonna say WOW!!The props the smell everything clicks.Only downfall to dark to see it all and the scares were not on que for us anyway. Will have to do this one more.A solid house non the less.4 skulls

Wolfman-We got the best scares of the night out of this house.Cast B was dead on in every turn.A great done house but please turn down the fog abit.4.75 skulls would of been 5 but the fog was to much

Scarezones I am sorry to say are very very weak this year.

Containment-What A waste no scares at all

Apocalypse-There could be scares here but not to be found for us

Lights Camera Hacktion-another could be better area

HorrorWood Drive-In-Now this has got potential

War of the living Dead-This is the best one so far this year.I hung out there for 1/2hr.

Cirque du Freak-unless your into the books (I'm not) waste of my time

Bill & Ted show-What can I say gets better every year I see it

Now all this IMO only.I know it was only opening night and I'm sure they will tweak it.Love to seen them bring back the Zombie Drill Team.In less then two weeks all these opinions can and probally will change.

Forgot to add at the end of the night Fangoria was doing A live show and they had Micheal Roddy as A guest.Dont be surprised to maybe see Children Of The Corn next year. But of coarse he would'nt say yes or no about it..

Great reading all of your reviews so far! I won't be headed there until the end of the month but I'm so excited.

And what a beautiful baby! Congrats!

This year, I was all alone. Flew alone, ate alone both Friday and Saturday at Finnegan´s, and went to HHN both nights.... and I loved it. Anywho, I will write a trip report sometime this week.

I took lots of pics.

WOLFMAN:
I was one of the first guests to go into this house, before 6:10. I loved it. I was simply stunned by all the props and special effects. I was paying so much attention to all the details of every house, I jumped everytime I would turn around and find a scare actor beside me. My rating is an 9.5 out of 10.

DRACULA:
I liked it, never saw Dracula though, but good. I got so many spoilers for this house but I wont say em, I´ll bite my tongue. There was this bride soarin... ok shhhh. I gave this house a 9 out of ten

FRANKENSTEIN:
I was amazed by props and details. Shackles were real, some chains were made of metal, others plastic. Hand cuffs were real, carriage wheels looked made of wood but were cement. 8.5 out of 10

LEAVE IT TO CLEAVER:
Friday: 2 out of 10. Why? Don´t do this house when there´s still light, it´s ridiculous.
Saturday: 7 out of 10. Learned my lesson, went when it was darker. Big difference, especially the end with the blinking light.

SAW:
Very hot in here. Liked Team A better than B. Great detailed work for some of the scenes from the movies. I will not give any scene away, but I loved the wall details for the 2nd area once you enter and the one after that. :lmao:
Scarewise, very lame. I give this a 7.5 out of 10.

SPAWNING:
A little disappointed with the sculders. After a couple drinks, I found it scarier though. Loved details, sewers, pipelines, plastic tubes. I give this house a 7 out of 10.

SILVER SCREAMS:
I loved the decor as soon as you enter this house, amazing! Check out the sign and when the lights go out, the words disappear. I gave this house a 7 out of 10.

CHUCKY:
Again great detail, several props just like in one of the movies. I gave this house an 8 out of 10.

Bill and Ted, excellent! Very good!
Rocky Horror Show... not really my type of thing, saw lots of people walk out, many had children. OMG!

I won´t even comment on the Scare zones... did like the green mist in Containment, and props in Battle of the Living Dead.

Oh, Saturday, it rained real bad! I was done with all houses by 9 pm and bought an express pass since lines waiting time when up to 75 minutes, so one on 90. Redid all houses, and even did Chucky and Wolfman 3 more times!

:cool1:

So it was still crowded after all the rain? Right before it started pouring the posted wait time for Wolfman was 10 minutes, so I'm assuming that the wait times took a huge jump because people were trying to stay dry. You said you did more houses 3 times each later in the evening, so the houses died off again once the rain stopped and everything cleared up. Am I reading that right?

We left while it was raining because we knew we'd be coming back and were more worried about getting the inside of the car wet than ourselves. But from what I saw with the crowds the houses really weren't bad once the initial rush of people got in.
