Back From My Trip of a Million Dreams (tons of pics)

I'm jumping on board too! Great pics!
We were there Nov 26th-Dec 4th. We also ate at LeCellier for the first time and WOW - I agree, it could be the best food we have had anywhere...and I am not a steak person!
We loved the Candlelight Processional, we actually went twice.
Can't wait to hear more about your trip! Happy Anniversary!

They need to do Soarin' Over FL. Too bad they cannot do a flying over NYC in NYC. :)

Soarin' over Florida and NYC would be cool ones to do! I can see a lot more being done with NYC. Imagine places like the Grand Canyon for that ride? There are so many possibilities. :thumbsup2

I'm loving your report so far, sounds like you had a wonderful time and your pictures are great. Can't wait for more.

Thanks! We did have a wonderful time. More is coming later this week. :goodvibes

Welcome Aboard!

LeCellier was definitely an amazing food experience. Wow! You got to go twice to the Candlelight Processional?! That's awesome. I would have loved that. There were so many good readers scheduled.

Thanks on the anniversary wishes!

Ahhhhhhhhh somehow I missed three updates!!!!! I am sooo sorry....and they are absolutely fantastic!!!! I love the pics of everything!:thumbsup2 That's so cool you were able to be at the opening and experience so much in just three days! Wow!!!! I love the MVMCP pics! Glad to hear that Le Cellier was so good. I really want to eat there someday. What an awesome trip so far!!! :goodvibes I will check back soon (after I grade 100 labs:rolleyes: ). I just finished my budget and inventory for school which took up some time! Again, I am loving every minute of your report! :cloud9:  Can't wait for more!!!

See what happens when you stay away too long? :lmao: I'm glad you're liking everything. It was a very awesome trip, and definitely eat at Le Cellier the first chance you get.

UGGH! :headache: Budget and inventory! We did ours in December, right before my trip. That was stressful, because I wanted to get it all taken care of before I left, which I had to do, anyway. I so don't enjoy doing it, but it's a necessity. The worst is finding out what they decide not to get from what we submit.

You're lucky that I haven't had a whole lot of time this week, because I haven't had time to devote to more installments. But, don't you worry! Another is on its way!!! :woohoo:

We arrived early for our Chef Mickey’s breakfast ressie, wanting to make sure we got there on time, so we walked around and looked around their new shop that’s in the middle of one of the floors and in their main shop. When we went over to eat, it was still half an hour early, but we were taken. If you’ve never been before, they do a special picture of you, when you come in. We loved how it turned out, so we bought the package. When we were seated, we noticed right away that we had special placemats for our anniversary in front of our seats! I was so happy! It was covered with signatures from the characters. How cool. After we had eaten, our waiter also brought out a cupcake with Mickey sprinkles, a chocolate Mickey on top and a candle, for our anniversary. That was a nice treat.
PC220311.jpg

When they did the traditional “Celebrate with Mickey” song and dance with all the characters and all the guests twirling their napkins in the air, we had Donald in our area. He danced up a storm! Then, when the song was over, he looked all upset. We all wondered why he was upset, so he walked over to a server and indicated that he needed to write something. Know what he wrote? He was upset that the song was “Celebrate with Mickey” and not “Celebrate with Donald”! How funny.

Donald loved that I had him on my shirt!
PC220314.jpg

We got to take pics with Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Minnie and Mickey.
PC220318.jpg

PC220316.jpg

PC220309.jpg

Though getting Mickey over to our area was an interesting experience. Our section were all waiting for Mickey to come, and were all pretty much done eating, and were just waiting. When he was about to head to our area, to the first table (which was behind us), he suddenly turned around and walked away. The little girl at the table looked crushed! We all looked at each wondering what on earth had just happened. The servers quickly tried to explain that he must have had something to take care of and would be right back, though you could tell that they were a bit surprised, too. He did return and all was well.
PC220319.jpg

Afterwards, we went back to the main resort store and each got a Disney shirt. Before we left, we took pics of the chocolate Pinocchio display.
PC220320.jpg

It’s amazing what they can do with chocolate. What’s cool, is that each resort’s chocolate display has hidden Mickey’s to find! I found a number of them, which I was happy about, but not as happy as two boys who would jump up and down whenever they found one.

Then, we headed over to the AK.
PC220375.jpg

We went on the safari, which is always amazing.
PC220321.jpg

We definitely saw more animals than we have normally seen in the summer trips, which was to be expected with the temperature difference.
PC220322.jpg

PC220358.jpg

Unfortunately, the vehicle was going too fast most of the time to get many good pics of the animals.

After the safari, we went on a walking tour to see the gorillas,
PC220373.jpg

listening to a band we heard playing as we were walking, and checking out the shops. For lunch, we decided to go over to the Yak & Yeti. We originally had a ressie for later in the trip, but thought we would try it now, while there were less people around. We got seated fairly quickly. They had tons of Asian décor that you could tell came from various parts of the globe. It was very well themed. We got to sit on the second floor, which I liked, because you got a nice view. Though the place looked amazing, the food was not so much. Hopefully, it was just what we ordered and we knew that it was a new restaurant. I ordered the wonton soup (I love wonton soup and I don’t know what this was.) along with stir fried beef and broccoli which was okay. My DH ordered the prawn flavored crisps for an appetizer. He found the prawns tasteless and the peanut sauce too overwhelming, and this is from someone whose favorite snack is peanut butter straight out of the jar! For his meal, he ordered the baby back ribs. He wasn’t impressed with the ribs and I tried his rice and agreed it wasn’t the greatest. Ah, well. We still had dessert left to order, so we hoped for the best there. It wasn’t good that the family next to us left most of their food untouched and decided to not even wait on dessert. We ordered the chocolate brownie sundaes, which were so amazing, that my mouth dropped open at the sight of it and I told my DH, “I suppose they are trying to make you forget your meal by giving us this!” It wasn’t just big.
PC220378.jpg

It was HUGE and VERY good. I wouldn’t mind returning for dessert, any day.

Of course, as we walked through the park, we immersed ourselves in some of the culture:
PC220376.jpg

PC220377.jpg

We also headed over to the Oasis and got some more photo ops with the characters:
PC220381.jpg

As we walked out towards the front of the park, we stopped on the bridge like area for a picture. Anytime we saw Photopass photographers, we stopped. We were pleasantly surprised when the photographer had us pose like the two of us were jointly holding a baby and told us that when we saw the picture, we would see a baby Simba from The Lion King in our arms! How cute is that? The next time you go to the AK, ask for this photo op. It will be worth it.

Next on our list was MGM. We went on the Great Movie Ride and then on to Star Tours.
PC220388.jpg

PC220385.jpg

After Star Tours, my DH convinced me to do those photos where they superimpose our faces onto the bodies of others. We became Anakin and Padme and it came out so great that we ended up buying it with a frame. Our hair color is so close to theirs that the match was scary! Next, we headed over to watch the Muppets 3D Show.
PC310030.jpg

Growing up with The Muppet Show, we always have to go there. We still crack up throughout the show.

COMING UP: An Amazing Day - Part 2

Then, we headed back to the resort to change and get ready for dinner at 1900 Park Fare, a place we had never eaten before. Once we arrived, we went and had our pics taken in front of their enormous Christmas tree, while waiting for to get called. They give you a buzzer and you can walk around, while you wait. Afterwards, we lucked out and got seats on a sofa in front of the restaurant, since they were behind with their reservations. Luckily, we were just in time to watch and hear a bell choir, who were go good!

As we were escorted into the restaurant, they congratulated us on our anniversary and shared that it was Cinderella’s and Prince Charming’s first anniversary celebration! Besides the guests of honor, we would also be visited by Cinderella’s stepmother and two step-sisters. We had read enough on the boards about this experience, so we were really looking forward to this.

First off, if you have never gone to this character meal, make time to go! It is very worth it. When we arrived, we noticed that we had special congratulatory place mats signed by all the characters which appear at 1900 Park Fare, both in the morning breakfast and evening dinner

The food is absolutely amazing. It’s served buffet style, with foods from different countries featured. If I remember correctly, they had white rice with beef and broccoli stir-fry, in the Asian section. In Italian, they had a great meat and pasta dish. They had a carving station with ham and turkey. They had a chicken dish, with garlic mashed potatoes and various breads in the French section that was amazing! Then, in the Spanish section they had a great paella and I’m Puerto Rican, so I can definitely vouch for it. There was also a very good chicken marsala, though I don’t remember from what part of the world. As far as desserts, they had a self-serve ice-cream section, as well as tons of cookies, tarts, pies and cakes all pre-cut for you to take. If I remember correctly, they had carrot cake, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse, among their choices. They were also perfect sizes, so you could take a variety of desserts. We really pigged out, let me tell you!

Now, let me explain about the characters, who all looked remarkably like they do in the cartoon movie version! My DH actually said that Drizella looked like a deranged version of Snow White and sounded like the actress from “The Nanny,” Fran Drescher. At the start of the meal, Cinderella and Prince Charming danced together, to begin the festivities. What was so sweet, was that after dancing a while, they separated from one another and moved about the room, getting new partners for themselves from the children at the tables. You should have seen the awe in some of those kids’ faces! Afterwards, Cinderella and Prince Charming mingle among the guests, inquiring if they are enjoying themselves.
PC220394.jpg

PC220392.jpg

PC220393.jpg

They are both super sweet, as you would expect.

Then, the stepmother and stepsisters began what I like to call “the show”. Lady Tremaine would approach girls dressed liked princesses and say, “Okay, stand up and do something.” Then, when they would stand up, she would continue to act bored, as she observed them showing off their outfits. If a little girl didn’t know what to do when they stood up, she would tell them, “Now, twirl around.” When they finished showing off their dress, she would end with something like, “Very nice,” as though she couldn’t care less, in a dry sounding voice. Since the kids seemed accustomed to her character, they took it all in stride.

The redhead, Anastasia, came out into one corner of the room shouting, “MOTHER!” in that annoying screeching voice we are familiar with from the movie. DH said, “She sounds like she has a high-pitch Long Island accent!” (no offense to Long Islanders). Throughout the evening, both Anastasia and Drizella vie for their mother’s attention, often to complain about something, all while standing clear across the room from one another! They all responded well to flattery, which is how my DH and I decided to deal with them, when they each arrived at our table. Hey, we had to have some fun with this, right? They have to stay in character, and we kind of figured they would respond positively to the flattery.

When Lady Tremaine congratulated us on our anniversary, we thanked her and then I said, “You know, Cinderella and Prince Charming may be celebrating their first anniversary, but you know they won’t last much longer than a year.”
PC220395.jpg

Lady Tremaine got that wicked smile of hers on her face and responded, “Oh, I know. I love the way you think.”

We told Anastasia, “You know that we came here just to see you!” Of course, she replied, “OF COURSE, YOU DID!” After taking a picture with her, she would say, “PERFECT! Of course it’s perfect, because I’m in it!”
PC220396.jpg

Then, she motioned towards my DH, she asked, “So, how did you snag this one?” before posing with him.
PC220397.jpg

It was a hoot!

When Drizella came over, I immediately told her, “Don’t worry. You deserve so much better than that Prince Charming!”
PC220398.jpg

She nodded emphatically and quickly said back, “Y-e-a-h. . .like someone. . .with a personality (she said the last word rather high pitched),” and then she laughed/cackled. I then told Drizella, “You know, he (pointing to my DH) has a thing for you.” My DH had agreed to play along with everything, so I waited for how this would play out. She responded incredulously and looking like she was interested, “Oh, really?! Well, let me get a picture with you.”
PC220399.jpg

Afterwards, she told him, “Now, you keep that! Look at it all the time so you can remember me!”

To top it all off, after we had already gotten pretty far into eating our desserts, our waitress came over to our table and presented us with our own individual cupcakes, similar to the one they gave for us to share at Chef Mickey’s (but larger), each with its own chocolate Mickey face candy on top.
PC220400.jpg

In fact, servers came out all at the same time, to do the same thing to anyone celebrating a special occasion. Then, they announced that all of us celebrating a birthday, anniversary or engagement were to stand and everyone was to applaud. Immediately, a song began playing while everyone in the restaurant clapped to the beat and we all remained standing. Anastasia ran over to us and shouted to everyone within hearing, “They’re celebrating their 8th anniversary! Everyone, bow down!” and then continued to shout to them all about how lucky I was to have found my prince. It was definitely a meal to remember.

The characters at 1900 soud like a hoot. I was there over the summer when it was still Suzy and Perla who joined Cinderella for the meal. The step family sound like a wonderful addition.

Oh how fun!! You guys sure were fussed over quite a bit!!
Sure this will be an anniversary you'll remember a long time!
Enjoying your TR and pictures!:thumbsup2

They were a hoot and definitely made it an unforgettable dining experience! I only got to see Suzy and Perla at the MK, on this trip:

We definitely did. We were hoping for a little fussing, but were definitely pleasantly surprised by how so many people went out of their way to make our anniversary trip so special. We definitely won't forget it!

I'm glad you're enjoying my TR and pictures. :goodvibes Stay tuned. We were there for two weeks, so there's still plenty more to go.

As you can probably tell, we kept busy during the start of our trip. So, today, we took it a little easier. We decided to get up early, to take advantage of MK’s EMH, so we could relax for the afternoon. By 6:40 (yes, in the morning), we were at the MK. By seven, they let us in. With so few people up and about, we headed straight to Fantasyland, followed by Buzz Lightyear (can you tell we enjoy this ride?). When we got hungry, we went to the Main Street Bakery for breakfast. My DH got a yogurt parfait and coffee. I ordered a croissant sandwich with egg, ham and cheese, with orange juice. We both enjoyed our food, a lot.

By 1 p.m., we headed back to the resort for some time in the pool and Jacuzzi. The water was really nice, and it was great to be in the nice water in a bathing suit, when we knew it was freezing back home. Somewhere between 3 and 4 in the afternoon, we left our resort room to eat a late lunch at Pepper Mill Market. My DH ordered the beef fajita and I got the chicken quesadilla with rice & beans. The food was excellent, but the service poor. Nobody indicated where you should be to order, if you were in the wrong spot. They saw you, but simply didn’t respond to you. There weren’t many people around at that hour to order, that the workers were overly busy. We found that those who were dining at that time mostly felt the same way, and we helped each other out.

Around 5 p.m., we headed back to the MK. Of course, we decided to go back to Buzz. We just love trying to outdo each other. Then, we went to see the “Mickey’s Twas the Night Before Christmas” show. We could have seen this at MVMCP, but waited till tonight. Afterwards, we watched Spectromagic, and we loved the changes to the beginning.

The weird dudes with the funky wigs were done much better this time. They looked more like royal heralds. Then, we went on the Haunted Mansion Ride again. Love that ride, especially with the new changes. To end our evening, we went to the Main Street Bakery and each got homemade ice-cream sandwiches on two large chocolate chip cookies. Y-U-M-M-Y!!! We ended by redoing some of Tomorrowland.

All in all, it was a nice slower paced day. The coming days we knew could potentially be tiring, but of course, fun!

On this day, we slept in, before heading over to Epcot. We had a later breakfast at Akershus, which we had never gone to before. I was so excited, because Belle was supposed to be there with her Christmas gown. We got there about 40 minutes ahead of time, but they take people in shifts, so we had to wait for our allotted time. Since the World Showcase wasn’t open yet and it was roped off (you can get to Germany through the Mexico side), we pretty much sat around and we took some pictures.

We got pictures of some of the countries and without people, it was kind of neat. Of course, as with much of our trip, someone offered to take our picture. I love Disney. We’ve never felt weird giving our camera to a perfect stranger when they offer to do this.

PC240446.jpg

Once we got into the restaurant, we saw a storybook opened up in a case.
PC240458.jpg

Then, they ushered us in for special pictures with Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. I was disappointed to learn that Belle wasn’t there that day. Later, we learned she was sick. Mulan, Snow White, Cinderella and Jasmine did the rounds, during breakfast.

The food was excellent. First, you get to sample some items at their appetizer buffet. Who knew that there were appetizers for breakfast? Then, you were served a platter for the table, filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and a potato/cheese bake. The food was delicious and they gave you more of whatever you needed extra of. Patrick, from Norway, was our waiter. He was excellent at his job. He was very attentive to all of us in his section, super friendly and efficient. We decided to get the picture package with Aurora, before our meal was over.

Afterwards, we walked over to Mexico (I love how quickly you can travel at the WS!). We went on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros ride, which we loved. Though the original was nice for nostalgic reasons, it was nice to see a change. We found it more beautiful and entertaining, and we thought it made people appreciate what Mexico has to offer tourists in a better format.

Then, we headed to Futureworld. In one of the Innoventions buildings, we did the Segway demo. We absolutely loved riding them! We had seen them on our last trip, but I was leery about getting on one. This time, we tried it, and both of us found them rather easy to do. After trying them out, we decided that on our next trip, we have to do the Segway Tour around World Showcase. Then, we went on Journey Into the Imagination with Figment. I just love that purple dude! This time, after the ride, I bought a Figment mug, mouse pad, Epcot t-shirt that of course, included Figment on it and another t-shirt that was solely Figment, but was on sale for only $2.50!!! Who knew you could get a steal at WDW?!

One of the best parts of the day was going to the various countries to learn about how they celebrated the holidays. Of course, we took pictures wherever we went.

Lunch was at the Electric Umbrella. We had a late dinner at Ohana at close to 9 at night. We liked getting to walk around the Polynesian, which we always enjoy. Then, we waited in the wicker chairs for our reservation. Dinner was not as good as we remembered. Since our prior trip, we had changed a lot of our eating habits, so we didn’t know if it was that the food was just not as good as before or if we had changed our tastes that drastically. We don’t plan to return on future trips. However, the major highlight of the evening was getting seated by the glass windows and enjoying the firework show from the MK. They piped in the music from the park and we had a perfect view of it all.

Okay, it took my a couple hours but I managed to scan through your pre-trippie and now completed the beginning of your TR.

First of all, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Congrats on your weight loss! And your hair and nails turned out beatifully! And I think it's fantastic that you have such a romantic DH, especially with all the little gifts he likes to give you. I also liked all of your Disney outifts, very cute!

I really liked the way you planned out your days and that you started out park hopping right away. I hope it's okay, but I think I am going to copy your final itinerary for a future trip back to the World.

Looking forward to your next installment, thanks so much for sharing your special anniversary trip!:thumbsup2

Great TR! Your pictures at spectomagic are really nice. Mine never get of spectromagic.

Afterwards, we went back to the main resort store and each got a Disney shirt. Before we left, we took pics of the chocolate Pinocchio display.
PC220320.jpg

I took a photo of that and didn't even realize it was made out of chocolate!!! Wow, amazing. Loving your report!!!

I will surely stick around to hear the entire
magical two weeks!! Christmas at disney world
is just pure magic. Can wait to hear more!:cool1:

thanks for sending me the link. i cant wait to here all about our trip. I am in Disneyland now ad i am eaving for the airport in 1 hour. I dont want to go home!!!!!

Nice report.

Thank you, so much. :goodvibes

Wow! I'm flattered that you took the time to go through all of it. Thank you for the anniversary wishes. It was neat, because it wasn't a typical major number anniversary, where you expect a lot of extras. So, this made our 8th anniversary special.

The weight loss is still an on-going thing, but I was so proud of myself for acheiving such a great start. In fact, I'm acting in our church's annual Easter play, and this year I am playing a role I had two years ago. The costume lady said to me today, "At least we know you've worn the costume before, but I don't know what we're going to do about all the extra material. You are so much smaller now." That was nice to hear.

I got the hair and nails done right before leaving, and doing little things like that, made getting ready for the trip so much more exciting.

I definitely married a romantic, and thank God, he loves WDW as much as I do! I love wearing Disney clothes. I'm known for it back home, not that I wear it every day here, like I do at the parks.

Hey, if my itinerary helps you for your next trip, you're welcome to it! I hope it proves useful to you.

My next installment should be coming soon. It's been my pleasure to share my trip with all of you. It helps me relive the memories.

just read ya, start to end, nice writing! Happy 8th anny!;)

Thanks and welcome to my TR! Thanks on the anniversary. :goodvibes

Great TR! Your pictures at spectomagic are really nice. Mine never get of spectromagic.

I always have a horrible time getting Spectromagic pictures. The combination of darkness and all the little lights, does a number on the camera. Plus, you always have so many people around you. Those pics were the only ones that turned out half-way decent. We tend to do more videotaping of the parade, to really appreciate it later.

I took a photo of that and didn't even realize it was made out of chocolate!!! Wow, amazing. Loving your report!!!

Amazing, isn't it?! I cannot imagine making all those displays out of chocolate. So many parts of the various Christmas displays barely look like chocolate. Those chefs are true artists! Disney is lucky to have them on their team.

I will surely stick around to hear the entire
magical two weeks!! Christmas at disney world
is just pure magic. Can wait to hear more!:cool1:

I'm glad! :woohoo: WELCOME. Have you been at WDW at Christmas time? Though it was crowded at times, going for two weeks, allowed us to make the most out of our trip. Stay tuned! There's plenty more ahead.

thanks for sending me the link. i cant wait to here all about our trip. I am in Disneyland now ad i am eaving for the airport in 1 hour. I dont want to go home!!!!!

No problem, Jess! Good to see you. I understand about not wanting to go home. It's so hard to leave. Have a safe trip back to the land down under. Let me know when you begin reporting about your trip. I can't wait to hear about your trip. :thumbsup2
