Back from Marriott Grande Vista and BWV visit

I got an offer from Marriott several years ago to stay at the Grande Vista and sit through their sales presentation. Nice resort but being onsite at Disney is better. Marriott pluses were the pull out couch is much more comfortable and the unit was larger. Sales pitch took 2 hours but was almost enjoyable and very professional.

BWV were fantastic and we enjoyed our stay there. Saw the SSR rooms and they were beautiful.

No. The three Marriott timeshare resorts near Sea World (Gramde Vista, Cypress Harbour, and Horizons) do not offer their own transportation.

When I asked, I was directed to Mears Transportation, which operates vans, taxis, and Towncars.

A rental car is certainly cheaper and more convenient.

Or, better yet, stay at a DVC resort if you want access to WDW transportation!

How's the pools at Marriott Grande Vista and was your condo in good condition?

We stayed at Grande Vista in August. The condition of the buildings was fair. We ended up locked out of our room because the key card reader's battery died. Took almost half an hour to get in. The pools were nice, but no slides.

While the room was bigger than BWV, it was smaller than OKW. The furnishings were not the quality of Disney, nor other Marriott Vacation properties according to my mom who owns 3 MVC timeshares.

Was it worth the $379/3 nights I paid for a 2 bdrm, yes. Made going home to OKW even more special.
