Well we had a real whirlwind trip down to watch DD run in the Half-Marathon. The marathon is simply amazing. We drove over to Epcot on Saturday, when the half was run, and arrived just as the first wave was leaving. There were somewhere in the range of 16,000-17,000 runners in that one race with a similar number on Sunday for the full. We took the monorail over to MK to see her make the turn and after seeing her took it back to see the finish. The energy and enthusiasm was fantastic. DD said WDW did a fantastic job organizing the runners and the start was something she will remember a long time.

We stayed at All-Star Music this time paying cash. Wow, I sure am spoiled by DVC that is for sure. It was mighty hard going back and staying at an All-Star and I don't think we'll do it again. I don't want to sound like a snob or anything, but DVC accomadations really spoil you for staying anywhere cheaper. We only went to Epcot. Visited a little on Friday and more on Saturday evening after DD had rested up some.

Anyway, for those interested, I posted a few photos of the Marathon. Here is the link -

Now to start planning our March trip :).

Thanks for posting those pictures. I have always wanted to run the half-marathon at WDW but haven't been able to schedule it yet. Tell your DD "congratulations"!

I'm glad your daughter had a good time. My husband and his running buddy were not so lucky on Sunday. They started out good and by Mile 10 they were on track. However, when it got later and no results were posted and I didn't hear from them, I got worried. Weather was just too humid and too warm. Stephen got sick during the race and was pretty ill afterwards. Bill took a lot longer than he wanted to and sounded terrible on the phone. In fact, I was about to call Reedy Creek FD to see if they could check on them at OKW. They both got their medals and headed home this morning. They should be back in town later this evening.

Looks like we'll be heading to NOLA for that marathon the end of February to get a PR for Bill and Stephen.

Picture link isn't working..........so sorry the Heels killed State this weekend, at least you hopefully didn't have to watch!

Oops, I renamed the folder, here is the correct link -

Yep, pretty poor showing against Carolina Saturday. The problem is we just don't have any guards this year. We have a lot of talent in other positions but until they decide to start playing as a team, it's going to be a pretty long conference season. We did get to watch the game, while DD rested up before we went to Epcot.
