I went to WDW to see my DGF's DD sing in the CP, (which was wonderful as usual). I had a night at Pop, which went perfectly, I even was able to get my room at 11:30 AM). I had the next night at AKV (value studio, booked 1 week before the visit) largely because there's just so much to do at AKV, that would keep me busy until ME picked me up at 3PM.

The only glitch was the dining plan was not on the hotel's information when I checked into AKV Monday morning. Since I had booked it so recently, I didn't have a written confirmation, but the registration CM did check with someone and it was added on the spot. I used it for the CP package, and all went smoothly.

When I got home, I noticed on "completed" vacations that I had 2 AKV value studio listed for December 8th. What happens is that they can't add the dining plan, but cancel and rebook the night with the plan. I'm just posting this in case it happens to others...I was concerned at first, because I thought somehow I had two rooms booked and was charged for one I didn't use, but no, there were no points missing, so I contacted MS and found out about the rebooking.

The value studio that I did get was in perfect working order, close to the main elevator, and a view of the roof. I ate breakfast at Boma's for my first meal there ever, and enjoyed it and would do it again. They have these tiny chocolate croissants that are very very tasty. I only had one and feel I deserve a medal for the restraint shown!!!:rotfl:

The resort is having outside work done in the area I was in. I was surprised that the painters came onto my balcony to do some trim work when I was in the room, packing to leave. It's good that I was dressed to go!:goodvibes

Fantastic. I, too love Boma and dream of the day when I will stay at AKV myself. :thumbsup2

Did you unpack or are you leaving some things in the suitcase for your NYE trip? Glad your stay went well. Congrats on using your DP for CP. That was a bargain! See you soon! :goodvibes

Hi!!...I unpacked and actually used the suitcase for a long weekend visit to Dollywood that we got back from yesterday. We have one more trip, Christmas in Cape May, before that NYE trip, when we hope to say hi to you! What about you, have you unpacked?:goodvibes You were at WDW too...did you see the CP during this trip?

I unpacked. Not much to it now that we have 2 Owner's Lockers. We did CP on Dec. 4. Absolutely the best one I've seen yet. Sounds like you have been a busy girl! I won't start packing until after Christmas. The packing room is now the Christmas present room!

Sounds like a fun visit. Too funny about the painters. I'm happy you were "ready" for visitors. :rolleyes1

That must have been so exciting to see your DGF's DD sing at the CP. Only one chocolate croissant? You've got more restraint than I would have! Thanks for the tip about the painters on the balcony-I've got to learn to be more careful about being dressed in the room.

You know, the CP is even more beautiful when you know a person singing, at least to me it is. I focused on Erin's face and...well this time, she actually blacked out for a moment....the heat is bad up on the stage. No one saw her, and within a moment she stood up. Her parents and I thought perhaps she had dropped something, but no...she wasn't allowed to go back for her second performance.

I've been there for the other 3 years of her high school career, and each time it's been special for me to see her. I was thrilled that it worked out for me to go again this year. It was exam week where I work, and I didn't have to be there at all except for Thursday and she sang on Monday.

PS. As far as the painters, I did have a warning. Earlier that morning, I was in the pool and I noticed that the painters were doing the row of rooms to the left of my room, up and down the building. I had noticed people on the balconies before, so yes, I was prepared.

Every time I have gone to CP someone has had to be led off stage. We always go to the last performance of the night and this year at least 5 singers had to be escorted from stage. Too bad that there isn't someway to make this easier on the singers.

How magical that you knew someone singing. Very special - Hope she's okay. I can't wait to eat in Boma - I never have.

Thanks for the info about the room at AKV. We will check in there tomorrow, in the same kind of room! We go to Boma's on Friday morning, and the CP on Monday. How many nights does your relative sing on stage? Maybe we will see her!!:goodvibes

Have a great time!!! Erin's a senior in high school, and her school sang in two performances on December the 8th.
