Back from Great HH Vacation!!

Just back from HH vacation. Drove from CT to SC. The ride was about 14 hours. Not as bad as we thought. This was our first visit at HH and had the best time!!! There were many dvc members there from New England due to Spring Break. The CMs joked about all the New Englanders at the Campfire. All the CMs were wonderful!! So friendly and helpful. My kids loved the life guards (Bob and Ariel) The naturalist Brian was great!! and Stefano who taught the art class was the best!! My dd is almost 13 and ds is 10. They cannot wait to go back again. We did the dolphin discovery cruise and rented bikes. The beach house was beautiful and the kids especially liked the slide at the main pool. This was on our best family vacation. We usually had breakfast in our room and either made sandwiches for lunch or picked up something at the "Tide me Over". For dinner we usually went out. We went to Kingfisher, Scotts Fish market, Fudruckers and Pjs. We can't wait to go again. If any one has any questions, please let me know.

Can anyone tell me how HH compares to Vero Beach. We are considering going in the Fall, but was reading some threads about the beaches not being that nice and there wasn't much to do, but would like to hear from some of you that have been to both. Thanks so much!

I'm so glad you had a great trip. I am very excited about our upcoming trip at the end of May. I've been to Kiawah Island before but never Hilton Head. I love the low country. What time is the campfire? My DD is only 5 and I'm afraid she'll be asleep!

We just returned from HH and own at OKW/VB. The beaches at HH (we think) are nicer than VB, plus you are closer to resturants and shopping at HH than VB. We do like VB for a few days after spending time at WDW/OKW.

The campfire is at 8 PM until 9PM. There were plenty of young children at the campfire. Your 5 year old will really enjoy it!
