We just got back from our 5 days in GC. We stayed in concierge room and here are some info for those who are interested. (I, myself, found very little information on the concerige room before I left, so hopefully, this will help those who are interested in staying in GC concierge room)
- Check-in: we have to wait in line like everyone else. There is no separate concierge check-in like some resort in DisneyWorld.
- parking: valet is $12 a day or self park which is across the street.
- concerige lounge: I like it. It nice and one can see "limited" view of firework from DL and they do piped in music but the viewing is not 100%. (not as nice as seeing the firework from Polynesian concierge lounge or beach!)
breakfast: coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereals, crossants (chocolate and plain), muffins, bagles and cut fruits.
through out the day, there is a nice whole fruit bowls, chips, water and soda. We didn't have any problem of getting more than two bottles of water/soda per person to take to the park. The staffs are all very nice and helpful. In the afternoon, there are big cookies added. Evening offering is VERY LIMITED. Cheese and fruit platter, bread and butter, veggie platter, PB&J sandwiches and ONE appetizer. The days we were in the lounge during the grand hour the offering were, olive spread on cut crusty bread, some sort of chopped up pickle mushrooms and olive, tomatoes in a mini tortilla cup, some kind of savory mousse in a mini puffy pastry cup. There were wines with grand hour but seems to only have one or two variety.

Overall, we liked the concierge service. (Would have been better if they beefed up the grand hour food offering and have a separate check-in for concierge check-in)

Room location: we had the park view and was put in room 6416.
All the room in 64xx is a LONG walk to concerige lounge. The
rooms in 63xx are a lot closer.

Speak of room, I don't know if anyone had encountered this problem. Upon check-in, the CM went into the back room for a good 15 minutes and came back to tell me that my reservation was canceled due to lack of deposit. I was very confused because in my hand is the confirmation from my reservation that indicates no deposit is required. It turns out that after I made the reservation through their central reservation system, I did an on-line quote from "Dream Unlimited" to see if I can get a cheaper rate. Little I know, my on-line quote from "Dream Unlimited" means they actually make a reservation for me. Since I didn't like the quote I got, I never follow up on it and on the hotel computer system it shows I canceled my reservation! It took another 15 minutes to iron out the whole mess. The only saving grace was I did have in my hand the confirmation letter from central reservation system. But there was no more room on 6th floor (concierge floor) for us. Needless to say, we were pretty upset. The CM offered to put us on the third floor with access to concerige lounge and move us to 6th floor the following day.
The hotel was pretty crowded but the concierge lounge was never really busy, even though, it sounded like almost all the room was booked.
The park was very very crowded. Luckily, we had the hopper pass that allows us to collect mulitple fast pass. We absolutely love that feature. With mulitple fast passes, we were doing 4 rides in 1 hour vs 45minutes to 1hour wait on some of these rides!

I am so sorry that you had such confusion at the beginning, and I'm glad it all worked out. Thanks for the info! Just a few questions. Could you see the parades from your themepark view room? Did they give you a schedule of concierge services/activities upon check-in, each day, or with your documents before you arrived?

How does the multi-fast-pass work? Do you put your key in and get a fast pass more than once,(without the time window) or do you do it at the hotel or something? Thanks!Sus:)

One more question, Can you use the pools at the other DLR resorts, particularly, DLH, when you are staying at GC? Thanks!Sus:)

NeverWantToGrowUp-I sooooo agree with you-I can't find any relevant information about GC concierge-I've written to DL twice-the first time they told me to ask my TA (which I did and she didn't have any info other than what's in a travel brochure) and the second time they wrote back and said before they can answer my question I have to send them my confirmation # (what's that all about?). One of the listed things for concierge is a separate checkin desk - this didn't exist?
We also have a theme park view-what are the rooms themselves like-what rooms do you recommend we try for?
Did concierge make any reservations, PS's for you either before you arrived (ie. pre-arrival planning like WDW) or when you were there? Any details are appreciated. Thanks.

Our theme park view was not the best. We can see the Grizzly rapid ride (which by the way, broke down at least 5 times that we saw from our room, not counting the time we weren't in our room!) and the monorail (the windows from monorail were all opened, no AC??) We weren't around to see if we can see the parade or not but given our location, I doubt it. I don't know if rooms in 63xx theme park view or not, probably is, and they are definitely closer to the concierge lounge. I would definitely request those next time I go. The concierge staff didn't contact us prior our arrival (like the G.F. concierge) nor was there any planner sent to us (like the ploynesian). We had to go concierge lounge and ask them which they were very helpful and prompt in making all our P.S. for the restaurants we wanted.
I don't know about using other Disneyland hotel pool but to get into the pool area for G.C., you have to have your room key to get in. Upon check in, you do get a packet on concierge lounge hour, offering etc. As for the fast pass question, we got these 5 for 3 days hopper pass from Disney Travel Company that comes with three breakfast in the park as well as 3 $10 ESPN zone game card. The way it works is you can go collect fast pass from all the attractions that offer fast pass ONCE, but only one fast pass from one attraction. The normal ticket only allows you to collect ONE fast pass at a time and until it is used or expired, can you collect another one. We love the multiple fast pass feature. Usually, my husband go around and collect a bunch of the fast passes from different attractions for the whole family and then we just hit those attrations in series and you can really ride 4 attractions in one hour, vs 45-1hr wait on each of them. We broke our record on the number of rides we did in Disneyland park with this feature. Info on the breakfast in the park. Since we stayed in concierge, we ate breakfast in the lounge everyday, but we were able to use the voucher in the park to get ice cream and lunch. Some cashiers wouldn't let us use it but you can tell them to ask their manager and let's how we got ice cream, corn dogs and pizza with our voucher (value at $8.50 each). Hope the information help.

-------------------------------------------------
Operating Hours: 8:00 - 17:00
Reservation Line Number: (714) 781-4400

NeverWantToGrowUp-Can you tell me about the parking? How far away is the self parking? Do you really have to pay when you are a hotel guest? We have premium annual passes as well as the AAA package-do you know if the cost of parking is included or is it extra per night?

There is no fee for self-park. The parking lot is not exactly next to the hotel. You do have to cross a real street to get to the parking lot. Not far, few minutes walk from the lobby. I believe only valet parking is for fee, $12 a day.

Thank goodness-It was sounding like it was getting more expensive every time I asked a question.

Did you found you save $ on meals by using the lounge facilities (ie. for drinks and water etc- breakfast)?

Never, Thanks so much for all of your responses! I am growing more and more fearful that my husband's first trip to DLR is going to be disappointing for him. We go to WDW about twice a year and have done the DCL cruise several times. I'm the one who decided we needed to do this and now I am hearing how things are just not quite up to WDW standards. Oh well, I know that I will have fun!...if he doesn't complain too much. Thanks again!Sus:)

DLR is great ... smaller = more relaxing/less pressure. If you ask your questions about the GC Concierge on laughingplace.com you will get tons of info!
