We arrived on Sunday about 1:30. The CM at check-in (can't remember his name) was great. Left the check-in desk with an armful of papers and booklets of what was on the island. We had reservations for a studio and the only thing that was cleaned was a handicap room. It was just me and my DH so we decided to give it a try. Well, while the room is larger it doesn't make up for the smaller refrigerator and no cabinets in the kitchenette. Now I know that I will wait for a regular room to be cleaned.
The resort is beautiful and we had a great time. We ate at San Miguel's and the food was good. They had live entertainment on the deck area. We also ate a Del Vecchio's and if you want good Italian food it's the place to go. We ate breakfast at the Hilton Head Diner.
We did the Star-Spangled Bar-B-Que on Tuesday. It was a lot of fun. They had a watermelon seed spitting contest and one with ice cream for the kids with their parent. The food was good. They had burgers, hot dogs, chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, watermelon, and apple pie. The drinks that were included were lemonade and ice tea. Next time we will to the one at the Beach House.
The pool was wonderful. Never had any problem finding a chair. The slide is great fun. We went to the beach one day and the water was great. I will spend more time there the next time we go. We did the dolphin watch and saw a lot of dolphins. We went on the 5:30 boats. They had three boats full at that time on a Wed. It was alot of fun and can't wait to go back and do it again.
All the CM couldn't have been nicer. The only complaint I have is that I wasn't there long enough.

Ms. Sparrow aka Allison
Long Live Captain Jack Sparrow & Will Turner!

Gail and Joe - we just got back home today from HHI. We probably saw you at the BBQ. DD and I did the ice cream contest. We had a great time. i hated to come back to reality today! We met Scootersmom and Laurabearz while we were there. Didn't see any lime green on you! :)

It sounds like you had a good trip. I'm not surprised that you felt you wished you had more time there. We always do too. :sunny:

I sure hope not because I can't book there until the 7th month. I'm just glad that when we go the schools are not all out yet. Our points are at VWL and it's a good thing because we like early Dec. there.

We are thinking about going to HH in May. How is the weather then and are activities in full swing?

Also is there a charge to see the dolphins?

Thanks!

Deb, I noticed you're in Sacramento. We're in Folsom. We're planning to go to HHI for the first time at the end of May 2006. I love having the trip to look forward to.

Before Memorial Day, the resort is pretty quiet. The activities will be offered, but maybe just not as frequently as they will a few weeks later. ;)

You can sometimes see dolphins from the resort or from the beach. If you're asking about the dolphin cruise, yes, there IS a charge... But I think most people will agree it's well worth it!

The cost for the dolphin cruise is $30 but on Wed. (DVC members day) there is a discount of 10%. It is about an hour and 45 mins. and it is worth the money. The dolpins come right up to the boats.

Hey Carrie!

We're in Elk Grove. I am finding more and more Northern Californians here on the Dis Boards. Might also be because of DCL sailing here this summer. You are thinking of going in May 2006 also? That's when we may go. How long have you had your DVC?

Thanks everyone for the heads up in May. We want to go in May, but would like it if other kids were there also. The kids are older now and it would be nice if they had someone to pal around with.

Definintely will take the dolphin tour. That is actually less than what I thought it may be. Any other must do activities there?

Deb

Deb, we bought in Dec 2002. HHI is our home resort. We had a trip scheduled to HHI for the following summer but had to cancel because of work. The one in 2006 will be our first trip home. We are planning to go the week of Memorial Day. DS will be 5 and DD will be 8. Are your kids older?

We moved here from Elk Grove. We were there on Sunday. DH wanted to eat dinner at Logan's Roadhouse for Father's Day.

Hey Carrie!

It's a small world....You used to live in Elk Grove too? Not too many DVC owners here. We had our first trip home last November. We loved it and totally spoiled!

My sons are 11 and 13. We are homeschoolers so our schedule is very flexible. I think March is our favorite time at WDW. No crowds and the weather is very nice! We're trying to decide if we will go to WDW in 5/06 or HH.

My husband loves Logans Road House too. Those nice hot rolls are the best!

Deb
