Hi all I thought I would share my experiences at DLP. We stayed at the SL from 13/08 - 17/08 in the Golden Forest Room which was a welcome upgrade.

I love SL as it has great character and the pool is fun for the kids, at last Disney has thought about the baggage scanning prior the Festival Disney and you now by past the French sellers out side the station.

I have been to DLP around 13 times and stayed in all but the New York Hotel. My best being the Disneyland Hotel.

The weather was great, hitting 85 on most days. I have a few gripes which I thought I would share with you all.

Where have all the shows gone? I remember seeing Tarzan / Beauty and the Beast and Mulan, with also a great Snow White Show In front of the castle these have all gone and replaced with nothing.

I do find the European people quite rude and they don't like to queue. Also they don't have much respect for the Park, which was highlighted when watching Dreams by trampling all over the flower beds.

The smoking is a joke, everyone seems to have fags hanging out of their mouths, so no sign of designated smoking areas or Disney being able to police their policies.

I feel that there is a lot less to offer now at DLP then when we first went in 1993, although we have another park Disney have got ridden of all the Magic. I also feel the Magic ears for dreams is a big joke, as before we went we watched a you tube video of dreams with all the magic ears and is looked great, I purchased ears for my two girls at 20 euro each, but found we was a minority when the show was on. I counted about 26 ears being worn, I don't think people want to splash out this kind of money in Europe

It's a shame Disney is loosing its grasp on DLP as being a big Disney fan who got married at WDW in 2003, the my closest Disney is going this way.

Personally DLP is great for the young as the size of the parks and the amount of walking is ideal, but it doesn't have the sparkle of WDW

Welcome back - sounds like Sequoia lodge was good :)

I miss the shows too - I remember watching Mulan years ago and it was fantastic. I feel a bit sad that the Chapparall theatre is sitting doing nothing and only cartoons on in Videopolis.

I hope the lows didn't spoil your holiday too much :goodvibes

welcome back i hope you enjoyed your trip despite the lows.

i agree with your disappointment about the lack of shows. i don't think dlp can excuse this.even something low budget and low key would help fans not feel so hard done by

Hi....We were there the same time as you and I was shocked at the lack of shows etc when I picked up the park schedule compared to other years we have been....

Do you think this is something that DLP will change on the future in relation to the shows, or is the because DLP are in financial difficulty, the parks were heaving when we where there and the price of 46 euro for x4 fries, 6 nuggets and for drinks certainly must be making them money.

I couldn't understand why also in the summer they shut the studio park so early as this would help on the queues in the main park.

We still enjoyed our stay even though we had a few gripes

The prices they charge may make them money but they are deep in debt which will take ages to pay back. The Studios have never stayed open late one thing to take in to account is staff hours. France has a 35 hour working week so they would need to employ more staff to combat this.

Regarding the shows it is something everyone would like to see back and people have been letting them know so who knows if they listen, I think its a case of wait and see.

Money's tight right now, so no new shows.
Tarzan was supposed to be there during summer season, but cancelled the auditions last mintue due to lack of money.

Hopefully after Dreams ends it's daily show, they are able to save up again for something good.

Funny how you did see a lot of people smoking, I tend to see less and less smokers everytime I go.

Smoking was horrendous at that time IMHO. So much that we complained at City Hall about the people in queues puffing away. Their official stance is they don't have the staff to enforce it so basically nothing they can do. Crap as far as im concerned.

Crowds are heaving too - again not enough staff for later studio opening times due to French working hours (there isnt paid overtime, just extra days off earnt so that doesn't help either!) BUT its nice to see the parks busy!!

We did we food wise and our AP's are a godsend for counter service discount, though we did eat off site in Torcy and the Chinese in Bay 2 was only ¬12 for 2 adults.

We had 8 days this time and have another 6 days in October, just love the place <3
