Okay, okay...we are actually back a week now, but can't get round to doing a trippie. Basically, a great week overall but a small bit of the magic has faded for me. The staffing at DLP was quite surprising compared to previous visits. I think someone else mentioned CM's who had "lost the magic" and I certainly found this to be true. I don't know if this was a summer trainee problem or what, but there was certainly an air of despondancy within the camp.:confused3

Daughter took ill for 4 of the days, so that was a bummer. We had to call the doctor and she did her best to enjoy it regardless. Poor little mite. Highlights were having a private meeting with Jack Sparrow for my son, and a get well meeting with Cinderella for my daughter. The parade was excellent and the Buzz ride was a great new adventure for me.

Lowlights were the weather and the sometimes miserable CM's. I also had a tough time as some CMs now seem to have neither English or French as a language and it was hard to communicate.

Major disappointments were the crowds of disgustingly rude visitors (no nationalities mentioned...ahem!). Seriously, I had to scream at a woman who was pushing ahead of a wheelchair bound lad. Really took the edge off the whole experience for me. My daughter ended up in tears so many times when kids and parents alike barged passes her to get to a character, leaving her lost from my view and panicking. :scared1: I tried to remain calm, but to be honest it has put me off going back for the forseeable future.

Will post pics as soon as I get a minute. Hope all got their postcards okay!!

It's a shame that some things cause the magic to fade a little, and I'm sorry to hear about your poor DD. I'm glad that you had a good time on the whole though :goodvibes

Oh :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: your poor DD being ill for so many days.

I'm sorry some of the magic was lacking, but glad you managed to still enjoy yourselves. :goodvibes

It's such a shame it was ruined for you. For us, we no longer bother with characters unless it's a meal or a queued meet and greet. Too much aggravation.

We have learnt to go for extended periods, enjoy attractions first thing and last thing, and have a table service lunch. This allows me to deal with the rude behaviour of guests. DLP is the most beautiful magic kingdom park, but this is why we alternate all the Disney parks so as not to get fed up.

California next year and Tokyo/HK in 2009!

Sorry to hear your DD was ill:hug:

Some people just don't get the standing-in-line thing for character meeting in DLP. It wasn't a problem in WDW but I have seen it so many times in DLP and it pi... me off. I'm always letting small children get in front of me and sometimes I have to wait for quite a while but it pays of cause the characters notice it and after a while they come over and I get them to myself for a bit so we can get good pics.

sorry about your DD. Hope she had a good time anyway...

I know exactly what you mean. I wouldn't mind, but we booked character meals in Cafe Mickey and Auberge de Cendrillon to avoid this type of chaos. It was only when my son saw Buzz Lightyear getting off the Character Express that we were forced into this situation. BUt it was not just at the meet and greets....this behaviour went on everywhere from the ride queues to shops. I lost count of how many times people in a hurry pushed past my daughter, nearly sending her flying. She became separated from us so often by people barging past that we ended up putting her in a buggy (at age 6!!!) just so that we would be able to keep an eye on her. Even at that, one lady (I use the term very loosely), stepped right accross my sons lap while in his pushchair!!!

I'm usually quite calm about DLP, I know there are crowds and what it can get like, but the behaviour of some this time was more than I could tolerate. And it was usually the grown ups who were the worst.:scared1:
