Back from DL- very crowded!

I just returned from Disneyland from a Feb 3-8th trip. We had a lot of fun, of course, but it seemed like the crowds were way larger on this trip than they were when we went the last week of January last year. Especially yesterday... we could hardly steer our stroller there were so many people in the way. Does anyone know something I didn't?
Also, we encountered two private parties when we were there. One for Google when they closed the park at 7 (grrrr!) and one for someone else a different night. It was so sad to trudge slowly toward the exit because Disneyland was "closed" as you could see people in line and laughing, excited about their late night. What I wouldn't have done for a wristband!

Well, that's not very encouraging seeing as I'm leaving to go to DL in the morning. Guess I'll just plan on getting there early, grabbing FP's like crazy as usual . . .

I heard it was quite warm in Anaheim today as well. I'm sure that's bringing all the locals out after a couple of rainy weekends.

Yes, the weather has been absolutely warm and beautiful that last few days, and it has been so nice to be outside, so I'm sure that does draw the crowds in.

When we arrived on Sunday, the weather was in the high 50s and we were bundled. Yesterday when we left, it was mid 70s. So warm and nice :) It will late May by the time we get a day that nice here.

I hope you have a great trip DM! Looking forward to hearing all about it when you return. Glad I was able to PM you today...I forgot you were leaving so soon.

Doesn't seem like there is much of an off season anymore! Major bummer because we like the less crowds too! I wouldn't have been happy with them closing at 7pm either, that's pretty early!

Yeah...I think our idea of "slow season" is going to have to change. Because "slow" isn't as slow as it used to be. But just remember....it may seem crowded now...but it will be way worse over spring break, summer, and holidays. Think positively!

And to the person that said they are going to Disneyland soon....don't worry about the crowds (yeah, they can suck and be frustrating)...just have fun! You'll be at Disneyland! :yay:

We were there from Wednesday, the 6th, until today. Crowds were low on Wed & Thurs (until 4 pm on Thursday, when a lot of locals arrived for a special promo). Friday was quite busy - but nothing like last August! Busy this morning, but we didn't stay long.

One observation: Disney is very smart regarding crowd control. For instance, Tower of Terror had only 2 elevators working on Wed & Thu - 4 were working on Friday (last August, thry used all 6), So, even though the crowds were smaller, they control how quickly people get through the attractions. Maybe this is a "no, duh" to some, but it really became apparent to me on this trip.

I'm in the airport right now preparing to return from DL. The crowds definately grew steadily as the week progressed. Sunday (Feb. 3rd) worked out great. Between the rain and the Superbowl, the crowds were kept in check (and Dream Fastpasses helped :thumbsup2 ). Tuesday was great until mid-day when Google showed up everywhere. Crowds went up from there. Great week, though. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

About 30 minutes after park opened between Fantasy Land and Big Thunder Ranch just out of view of the crowds in FL. Great way to start the first day. They actually had quite a few and were handing them out.

We got them there too right as you went through the gate by Village Haus. What was interesting was about 50 yards down the path there was a second dream team handing out FP's as well. So technically we could have got them twice!!

We got the dream FP's three out of the four days we were at the park! As noted above, the pathway to the left of the castle, right in the middle of NO Square by the train station and coming off Tarzan's Treehouse. We also saw them at the exit of Splash. We never did see dream ears or lanyards being passed out while we were there.......we did see people wearing a few but not a ton of either.

We got Dream Fastpasses exiting Pinocchio on Friday morning at 10. We had gone on Pinocchio, then Snow White. As we were passing the exit to Pinocchio, we saw the Team passing out DFP to people as they were exiting the ride. DH said - let's ride again since there's no line. I thought no way would they still be there, but they were!! What a wonderful surprise!
