Back from DLR, Highs and Lows
Well ,back now from my trip to So Cal and the DLR. I cannot thank everyone on the Disboards enough for all the help and tips offered. This has been by far the most fun trip We've ever gone on so far. We had never been to DL during the Holidays, and I must say I was glad we had to the chance to this year.

Staying at the Grand California Hotel. WOW, the service there is far beyond excellent. We got there around 7am to get check in and our park tickets, and to our surpise we were able to get our room right away. At 7am!!! Because we were celebrating quite a few events, we even got a room upgrade with a view of the pools at no charge; and later that night we found some roses, chocolate, and a pine tree in a can laid out on the bed!!!
Carsland is amazing! I loved the way Disney did the whole land up...All decked out for the holidays. We were amongst the first to enter DCA thanks to Early Entry, and got on RSR within minutes thanks to the Wide Right technique I learned about on here! Twice on Monday, and once on Wednesday. We even got Fast Passes to ride RSR at night...boy was that cool!
I'm not a fan of World of Color but my partner had never seen the show before so I went ahead and got FPs for it. We got a great section (blue) and were delighted to see the Holiday version of the show.
Ghirardelli has amazing chocolate treats. I couldn't get enough of their mint chocolate ice cream, and hot fudge...WOW.
The Indy ride looks better than ever now that they got the cool effects working again...Yes, the effects in the queue work again too! It did however break down a couple of times while we were in line, but only for a few mins.
The Xmas parade is amazing. We got VIP seating thanks to our Disney Resort package, and had a great view from the Princesses M&G right by Small World. We got to see the parade about 10 feet away from Ms Gwen Steffani!!! I managed to take a pic of her before everyone else in the crowd realized who she was.
LOWS
Not many, just a few minor things, like not being able to ride some attractions due to break downs, or lack of time. I was also bummed out I didn't have time to check out the Disney Chase Visa M&G area, or take my free pic with a Character We lost track of time riding everything else.
Here's a link to some pics if y'all want to check them out.
