Had an excellent time, for the most part!! Mission Soace, glad I did it, but never again!!

Did not see any motion sickness bags, but I didn't feel so good myself, only while on the ride, and only when I closed my eyes, which they warned us not to do, lol!!

Line-ups were ok, we used fast passes everywhere, so little waiting. We all agreed that the Test Track is the BEST Disney ride!!

One rude cast member at Magic Kingdom. First of all, Splash Mountain should have a locker area!! We wanted to get soaked, it was a very hot day!! My kids put their bathing suits on, son had a t-shirt!! My 5 year old daughter had on a very discreet bathing suit, a tankini, so the bottoms are very square, and look like shorts!! We left EVERYTHING else in lockers at the front of the park! Directly to Splash Moountain, no line-ups at all, yipee!! Until the first cast member monitoring the line up, said that our daughter could not go on, as she needed shorts! PARDON ME??? She insisted and kept saying it was Disney rules!! Now remember it was more like a short set, then a swim suit! We argued with her, but NO-GO!! So I went to the little store, because I did not want to go all the way back to the front of the park. CLOSED!!

By the time, I am mad, and my daughter is in tears, I walked back to the same cast member and said, "fine, I am going to the front of the park to get her shorts, but when I return I want to speak to your supervisor." Wow, what a change in her attitude, she said well just go on the ride, hmmmm...so we went 2x and no one else mentioned her suit!!

What do you think of that? Was she just being a rude employee, obviuosly she wasn't sure enough of her position, to involve the supervisor!!

However that was the only mar on a Perfect day at The Magic Kingdom!!

Hi cassmat. Welcome back. It sounds like you had good weather for your holiday.

I'm sorry that you were upset at Splash Mountain, but it sounds like the employee was just doing her job. SM isn't a water park ride, and to be honest, even in the dead of summer we don't get soaked enough to warrant swimsuits. My kids DO always choose the "wet" side of the log and reach their heads out to the waterfall. :D

I loved Mission Space although we only got on it once. I think that is one for once a trip, but WOW!

Now for the sad part of returning to the real world. :( I always hate that part!

I am glad you were able to get on the ride, I know the type of bottoms you were talking about it so it should not have been a issue.
What side is the wet side of the log??? When we are going down the drop should I be on the left or right if I want to get soaked?
Grover in Winnipeg

Grover, you want to be last in the log so that you are on the right. My kids love getting wet!

I thought as long as you were wearing shoes and a shirt, you were fine. Since she wasn't topless and had shoes, I can't see where the problem was.

If you want to get wet sit in the front on the right side. Only very rarely have I gotten wet in the middle or back. And the big splash you see from the walkways is actually a water cannon shooting water over you as the picture is taken. Look at a picture of splash mtn. upside down and you'll see what I mean. By the way, I agree with Debbie. From the way you have described it, it seems your children did MK in their bathing suits. Of course, the guest is always right. That may be why she didn't want to involve the supervisor.

It's really a safety/cleanliness issue, but, yes, the CM was quoting an actual disney policy that shorts must be worn with bathing suits (even if they *look like* shorts.)
The CM was right to let you know of the policy (just doing her job) Whether or not she said it in a rude way, I have no idea, but the act of not allowing you on initially was not in-and-of-itself rude. Seeing as you were so far away from the lockers, the CM probably decided that it was not worth having you trek all the way back to the entrance and get mad. The threat of wanting to speak with a supervisor -who would have probably reiterated that it was a policy that the CM was asked to enforce- was probably not a motivating factor as much as the hassle (for both of you) if she didn't just let you go.
In any event, now you know so you won't risk the same challenge next time.
