Just wanted to say, we are home from a week at cypress pointe grandvillas and we really enjoyed the place. For the price of this place on hotelkingdom.com, i feel like we really did well.
The place was lovely, there was lots to do. The kids loved the pools and they loved having their own room and bathroom.

I'll have pics soon if anyone is interested!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We are looking at staying there for our trip in January, yet I the price on Hotel Kingdom seems too good to be true.

wendypa I would love pics. We are trying to decide between a few places and that would really help. Adresss is gdixon1@cogeco.ca.
Thanks

Dear Wendypa:

I just went to Hotel Kingdom on your recommendation and it is a great deal. What size condo did you have?

I have been watching Skyauction to get a condo for May 29th and people are paying a fortune for Vistana! Even the one bedroom units are expensive.

Could you walk to restaurants, to Downtown Disney. Was it gated? I'm taking my daughters with me alone this trip and I was looking for somewhere like a resort feel that was safe and nice. Any information you could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rebecca

Rebecca P,
I am a single mom with 1 daughter (11), we have stayed here twice & have a 3rd trip planned for 5/21 thru 5/25 & will be staying there again. even tho its just the 2 of us, for the price, we keep getting the 2 bedroom villa at Cypress Pointe, not the Grande Villas. we love the separate bathrooms & full kitchen access. Even tho we stay in the 'older section' I find no problem with it as it is kept very very clean, cleaner than ANY of the All Stars resorts onsite I've stayed in. This place is fine for safety if you ask me. It has always been very quiet & mostly families & older couples. We were there back in March during Spring Break for Colleges & there was one group of college girls staying there but never had any problems with them at all, they were quite mature & didnt seem like the drinking, partying type. The resort is not gated with security guard. The main pool with the Volcano definately has the resort feel. There is a little convenience store next to the pool that sells pizza & french fries (& burgers?). We didnt order fries but alot of people were walking around with them & commenting on how inexpensive & good they were. They also have a little miniture golf area, sand volley ball & a basketball area.

I would not recommend trying to walk to Downtown Disney, but the drive is only about 3-5 minutes depending on traffic. There is a Winn Dixie grocery store & Papa Johns Pizza that I would say was within walking distance as well as a Walgreens in a different direction but you would have to cross 535, a busy street to get to the Walgreens.

Rebecca, I think you'll definately enjoy cypress pointe.
It was a quiet little resort. Like other said, i saw mostly older people and couples with children. We stayed in the grandvillas, but next time (and we will definately stay there next time) we'll stay either in the phase one or the grandvillas. They looked equally nice. The kids loved having their own bedroom and bathroom. The jacuzzi tub was great after a long day in the parks.
The private screened balcony was used daily by us.
We found it to be clean, quiet and exactly what we look for in a place to stay. We could walk to winn dixie, walgreens, eckerd, papa johns. Across the street and down a few blocks we walked to baskin robbins, dunkin donuts.
The gate to disney was probably a mile down the road.

Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, ask away!

Wendy

I would love to see the pictures too. We were planning on renting a house for our week but most that I liked were sold out for our time period. We then were able to get the Entertainment rate at the Royal Pacific for last week of August so we went with that. Now I have two days at the end of the week and need a place to stay. The RP rates jumped from $119 a night to $200 for Friday and Saturday night and I just can't justify spending that much since we need two rooms. The Cypress Point Grand Villas seem like they would be perfect for our last two days, but like someone else said, the rates seem to good to be true. We've stayed at the Marriott Horizons, Sheraton Vistana Villages and Wyndham Palms Resort (I think that's the name) in the past. These were all beautiful, can anyone compare the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas? I also like the location of the Cypress Pointe, it will be nice to be within walking distance of a few stores.

Come to think of it, I think I paid $89.00 a night last summer at Wyndham palms and we weren't disappointed at all, I hope that's the case at Cypress Pointe.

Debbie I have photos that my DH took on our visit last year if you'd like to send me your email addy I'd be more than happy to send them along.:sunny:

I sent these same pics to Wendy and she liked them.:sunny:

You were right!! We did enjoy the stay. Can't wait to go back, we are hoping for next year!

Wendy

Wendy I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and you never know maybe we'll see each other at CP next year as we're probably going to go next year in either oct. or Nov.:D

Debbie I'll send the pics to you right away. Happy planning!:sunny:

cinamin27- How does Cypress Pointe compare to the Wyndham Palms? I know we both stayed at the WP last year around the same time. Can't get those WP rates again this year through Hotel Kingdom. :(

Could you possibly send me the pictures: extremesoccermom@yahoo.com we have been looking at this place for our trip at Christmas and again next March when my mom will join us. Since the kids are now DS15 and DD10 sleeping in one double bed really doesn't work so CP looks perfect for us. Thank you in advance.:earsgirl:
