flew in from Sanford, very convenient, grabbed a mini-van and in about an hour we were in Daytona, absolutly loved it here completely dead we were the only ones on the beach, it was quiet, after 3 days we packed up, drove to Cypress point. we loved this even more than Daytona of course all 4 of us were crammed in 1 room at the beach so getting a 2 bdr. with 2 baths and a kitchen was heaven. I am really surprised at all the negative reports saying the room and the decor is old, it was nice for us, LOVED the washer and dryer, close to everything, We did DD which is across the street, ate at shoney's(buffet) it kept everyone happy.hated Jungle Jims expensive and cheesy, loved the Eckerds across the street, expensive but carried everything, (much cheaper than the store on site) Very disapointed in Univ. studios, sooo crowded could not even move, 90min. wait for everything, we did 3 rides and left everyday. and the parking, we paid for prefered parking ($12) and it was still a hike...we stayed right next to the volcano pool, FYI....hated the BRIGHT light coming from the window over the jacuzzi, it was like 8:00am at night we actually stuffed towels in and around the window to cover the light Already planning for next yr..at cp

Thanks for the review of Cypress Pointe, Leanne. I currently have reservations for CPGV for a 2 bedroom villa. But I see that I can get a 3 bedroom at CP for $70 less for the week. Hard to pass that up unless the CP was a dive. And it does not sound at all like it is.

Do you know what number building you stayed in? I understand that building 1-3 have already been renovated.

Thanks for your information. Glad that you had a good trip (except for Universal and Jungle Jims). :)

Universal can get real crowded. During the off season it doesn't get as crowded as Disney IMHO. [But my kids wake up at 6:30am so its a breeze to be there at park opening.] Best bet during more crowded times is staying onsite --- I just booked 1 night at the end of August for $129 with the annual passholder discount. One night gets 2 full days of front of the line access. Glad you liked CP and I totally agree about Jungle Jims.
