This was our first stay at CSR, thanks to everyone on this board who gave us info. before we went. It was everything everyone described.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and I especially liked that the pool was not as crowded as other resorts we've stayed at. Most likely because it is a convention resort-DH was at one of the conventions being held there.

We arrived around 10:45am so we were prepared for our room not being ready. We had lunch in the PepperMarket, then headed to the big pool to relax. We had been up since 3:45am so we were ready to relax.

Around 2-2:30 I called the number to see if our room was ready and was told it wasn't ready, I guess I sighed or something because the CM noticed my frustration. I apologized to her and said I wasnt' complaining because I knew official check in really wasn't until 3, but that we had been up since 3:45am and we were really tired and wanted to lay down for a while. She suggested we go to the front desk and ask if the same type of room in the building we were assigned to was available. So I did that, I didn't complain just simply explained what the CM said on the phone. They called a manager over and she found a room for us and in the process upgraded us to a waterview room. I wish I had written down the name of the CM, so I could send her a thank you note becuase it really made our day.

We were in the Casitas, our room was very nice, spacious and very clean. The location was perfect, 3 min. to the main building, the small pool and laundry were right next to our building. We couldn't have asked for a better location.

Our only dissapointment about this resort was the PepperMarket. I know many people really like it, but it just wasn't for us. I understand that they are catering to the convention clients so they are trying to make the food court a bit more upscale. But for my family, it just didn't work. We felt the prices were quite high compared with our last stay at the CBR (2004) and the sitting area seemed a bit small. And they charge 10% gratuity. We ended up doing take out for breakfast every day to avoid the 10%. The PepperMarket wasn't a surprise becuase I read about it in my planning guides and had read about it here on the DIS Boards.

Overall our trip was excellent. DH had a good conference and DD and I were able to see and do everything we wanted to. We're looking forward to our next trip to WDW.

We are headed there on Aug. 19th and have a 7:30 am arrival and will be traveling for 13 hours to get to Disney (our first time...can't believe I have not been in all of my 43 years). I'm sure we will be beat and want a room to rest. Hoping they can help us out too. We don't plan on eating much at PM just because of timing. I'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful time and loved the resort. Makes me feel like we made the right decision. I like peaceful quiet surroundings when at my resort. Thanks for a great review. Oh, by the way, how was the heat? We live in WA state (eastern side) and are used to high temps, but we don't have the humidity!

I agree with you that the prices at Pepper Market are high for a CS. I wouldn't eat there unless we were on the DDP, which we were for two trips. My family loved the food though. It was nice having lots of options other than burgers.

Thanks for posting! We'll be there in September & we're really excited about staying at CSR for the first time! We arrive really late at night (after midnight) so I know our room will be ready & we'll be ready for bed as well!!

Thanks again! I can't wait!

mkross--as far as humidity...we've been there in September the last 2 years & it's VERY humid & very hot. I would imagine August would be about the same. Be prepared w/lots of water! You don't really notice the humidity when you're at the parks (except AKL in my opinion) because all the rides have a/c. It's Disney! You'll have a great time regardless of the weather!!

For various reasons DH and I were resort hopping yesterday. :dance3: CSR was one of our stops so we could get a breakfast treat to go. (yummy rolls.... )
I don't recall when we had popped in there last. However as an FYI, the bar area adjacent to the Pepper Market was walled off for a rehab. (Probably old news here. :confused3 )
Instead they have a very nice pool area bar. Looked very comfy, and had music playing.
We did not go there, but thought that was nice touch and a good idea that should remain once the inside bar area is open again.
Pepper Market was VERY busy last night when we were there. Quite a line just to be seated. We eventually went around since we just wanted a few to go pastries. Luckily we noticed an abandoned "To Go" card laying on the bar/drink area next where we were waiting to be seated.
The line to pay was exceedingly long too. A manager finally came out and opened a third register.
There seemed to be plenty of available seating. But to be seated and to pay had long lines. (With typical unorganized lines in a tight space and people trying to jump line. :upsidedow )
With To Go containers of hot food, their food would certainly have been cold by the time the diner got anywhere to eat it.

One of the stops was the Grand Floridan for Afternoon Tea. :cloud9:  Always a good choice! :woohoo:
And we took a quick peek of the AK Villa construction area. popcorn::

Wow, Excited to hear that you had a wonderful time at CSR. I have been to WDW what seems like a million times, and have never stayed at CSR. However, will be staying there this October with my best friend, and I am waiting patiently.....just 3 more months. :cheer2: :cheer2:

We will be staying at CSR Dec 1-9. We are looking forward to it. It will be our first trip at the resort and DS is looking forward to the pool.

I was very surprised that the heat and humidity was not as bad as I expected for the end of June. The temps. were in the high 80's low 90's and it was humid, but not nearly as bad as we've experienced on other trips in the summer.

I found the CSR to be quite peaceful and quiet. We never heard anything from our neighbors and found the pools to be very pleasant.

Enjoy!

Great to hear such a good trip report to CSR. Our family will FINALLY be getting to stay at CSR at the end of the month and can not wait! Only 19 more days to go and we'll be on our way.

We cannot wait for our return visit to Coronodo Springs! We were there for the first part of our honeymoon (then went to Jamaica after 3 days at CSR) and really did not get to experience the resort. We are looking forward to it!

We always say we should have just stayed there and not gone to Jamaica. :-)

We will be staying there in about 3 wks. Aug 3-8th!!! Cant wait to go and see the beautiful resort.

I have a quick question, - what type of service do you get from housekeeping? What is provided. I read the that rooms come with coffeemaker, hairdryer and fridge- What else is provided each day? Shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee mugs????

Anyone know?:cheer2:
