I'm so jealous! I live in Michigan so I make several Cedar Point trips every year. I've lost track of how many times i've rode it, but yet to have a rollback. One night during halloweekends, I was close. It got cold and the employees told us the ride doesn't like the cold, so there were a ton of rollbacks. One car of people had THREE of them. Rollbacks really delay the ride as it takes time for them to bring it back and reset everything, so I was in line for over 3 hours. (noting I got in line right before they closed at midnight, so it was after 3am before I got done.) We were staying on property, so we walked back through the terror path thing they had just because. It was pretty creepy because the music and scattered lights were still on, but no one else around.
I went down the 3rd day the Maverick was running, and it looked great. We were there right at 10 when the park opened, but there was already a 3 hour wait by the time we made it to the ride. It was a hot day, so we decided we'd go back later when it cooled down and wait it out then. But of course, it broke down around 7 and didn't reopen.
I think cedar fair and six flags are pretty close to properties now. But cedar fair sure knows how to run a park better than six flags. I visited the now closed six flags in cleveland and magic mountain in CA, and I was quite dissapointed. Magic Mountain was the worst though. When we first arrived, we saw a sign showing 5 of their coasters were down for repairs so that was great. Then all the other rides were only running one set of cars, so even a small line took hours of waiting. The insane July heat didn't help either! Okay sorry this turned out so long. Anyways, how did the rollback feel? It had to be crazy falling back 400 feet.
