I just returned a week ago from my first DVC trip. We were absolutely super happy about everything.
We did seven nights in a 2BR at BCV (myself, DH, my parents, and my grandmother.) We were in room 302. (A dedicated 2BR.)
We enjoyed the proximity to Epcot and had excellent treatment every step of the way. The room was clean, our luggage and food were delivered in a timely manner and the CM's were very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent dinner at Cape May Cafe and everyone was happy.
Even SAB was not overcrowded and was alot of fun. We also really liked the proximity to the quiet pool.
After that, my family left, and DH and I transferred to spend two nights at AKV in a 1BR (room 5513.) We were on the Zebra trail over-looking that middle savanna. (Sorry - I'm forgetting the name of the savanna right now.)
We LOVED AKV!!!!!!!!! We wished we had spent our entire trip there! We are thrilled that this is our home resort and we're already trying to figure out how to save up for an add-on. We saw animals all the time outside. Zebras, giraffes, and those antelope and oxen animals. It was amazing. (We really like animals!) The rooms were gorgeous. I loved the furnishings and the appliances were very nice. I felt that the lay out in the living room/kitchen area felt more open than at BCV.
My ONLY small complaint was the shower/tub - it was very tricky to get in and out. (I'm short, so the high sides made for difficult maneuvering.)
CM's were friendly and helpful and we never waited super long for any buses. Our luggage was transferred from BCV without a hitch.
We loved it so much that we already booked our trip for next June in a Value studio at AKV!
Because of thunder storms and a limited time frame, we didn't get to swim at AKV, but we walked around the pool area one evening and it was quite nice. Very lush vegetation around the area and the water slide looked very fun!
Can't wait to go back!
