I survived my first day back at work, with quite bad jetlag, but I made it unscathed!
We had a fab trip over the 2 week Christmas period, and so I thought I'd do a highs/lows list...

Lows

Relinquishing control - Okay, so I am a type-A planner, and as you may or may not remember, Grandad paid and organised this trip. Therefore I had to go with the flow, which I struggled with a little!

Making sure everyone was happy - As there was 12 of us, aged between 4 and 70, we had to make sure we were keeping everyone happy, as we all wanted different things. This often meant very early mornings for those who wanted to hit the big rides before the crowds, but we managed.

Fastpass Plus and crowds - This only caused us problems as we didn't stay on site. It seemed much busier this year than we have experienced previously, and I think this had a knock on effect with FP+, as onsite guests can only book 3 FP+, and only one of those can be a headliner. This meant that the queues were much longer than normal.

New Years Eve at Epcot - it was busy. Seriously busy. Yes queues were upto 300 min (however, we waited in a 240 minute queue for Test Track, which was only 120 mins absolute maximum...) The fireworks were worth it, but I found it too much.

Flight home - SO turbulent, it was mad. It didn't help the food was nasty, and my brother had been ill within an hour of taking off, so it just wasn't meant to be!

Highs

Christmas at Disney - We enjoyed spending Christmas Day at the villa and then playing mini golf in the afternoon. We saw the Osborne lights, Wishes, Holiday Wishes, NYE fireworks in MK, NYE fireworks in Epcot, snow flurries, Clyde and Seamore Countdown to Christmas, and the dancing trees at SeaWorld...

Seeing Disney through a child's eyes - We went with my aunt, uncle and my 2 cousins, aged 8 and 4. It was amazing to witness their experiences - my 4 year old cousin loved everything!

Tales with Belle - my 8 year old cousin getting picked... amazing!

Having the family together at Christmas - There was a little friction between some of us, but on the whole, Grandad's trip was successful, and we all had a great time!

Queue jumping Spiderman - flirting will get you everywhere! ::yes::

Disney food - yum! What do they do to their fries??!

In due course, I will be doing a TR and editing videos, but if anyone wants any information before, please feel free to ask me!

Don't forget the great weather!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Sooooo pleased you had a great time. We also found MK to be exceptionally busy this year even before the peak Christmas week, we set off for there the day after Boxing Day & even the transportation centre was gridlocked :scared1: we took one look and walked straight onto the Epcot monarail & had a fantastic day there instead :thumbsup2

Really looking forward to your TR :surfweb:

Sounds like a fabulous trip. We love Christmas at WDW and have played mini golf a few times on ChristmDay :) never been for NYE (normally on the way home) so it was interesting to read your thoughts. My DD would like to stay for NYE but the crowds sound crazy and I suppose you have to be there early and stay late :scared1:

Sounds like a great trip. Really looking forward to reading your trip report, especially as our Xmas 2016 trip is most definitely on! Happy new year :-)

Did you find the parks to be any quieter pre-Christmas Day, or were the crowd levels about the same for the whole fortnight? Planning to go next Christmas and trying to work out if it would be better to go as soon as our kids break up or go a tad later. Only doing 8 nights in Orlando.

We did SeaWorld Boxing Day, and it was busy, but we'd done the rides by 11... so it wasn't all bad! I hope you had a good trip too :-)

We got there at 1130 ish, staked out our spot from about 10pm. Not the best spot but there were people sat ready from 3pm... we made it till the end, but it was just too much for me!

Happy New Year to you! We had an amazing time, and are so grateful that Grandad is silly enough to pull it off ;-)

Please do stick around for my TR, it might be a long one though, as I have to wait for my family to send me their pics (I barely took any!!), but I also plan to add a video to each day :-D

Honestly, it was just as busy the few days before Xmas, the days after Xmas, and the days after New Year. I would go prepared to not do every show/ride/character etc. I assume it can be done with Fastpass Plus, but I cannot comment on that!

Thanks for that, doesn't seem to make any difference when we go then. Useful info:santa:
