We got back on Saturday morning from an amazing two weeks.
As is tradition - I thought I would do a quick Highs & Lows.
HIGHS
Old Key West - an amazing resort - we were initially in building 53 but I asked for a room in Turtle Pond and they change it to 33 - right by the bus stop. We loved the resort and they had so many activities for the kids too - both the children won Bingo one afternoon and DH & DS played tennis nearly everyday.
Harry Potter Forbidden Journey - This attraction was simply amazing. By far the highlight for me - we found by going after 2pm to this area the queues were just 20mins which was no time at all. The theming of the whole area too was stunning.
I wanted to buy a students hat for my terminally ill godmother who is a massive HP fan - so asked a member of Potter staff where they were - apparently the only place they had them was in Dervish & Bangs accessed after queuing for Ollivanders - he kindly took me in the back door exit and found me the hat (I have one very happy godmother!)
Seeing Jedward board hulk was amusing - especially as none of the americans seemed to know who they were! We thought perhaps they were testing hair gel to see how well their stuck up hair coped on the coaster.
Weather was very hot - above average for October just two days with a bit of rain.
California Grill - an amazing meal - we saw the Epcot fireworks and the water parade and then opportunity to watch the Halloween fireworks from the balcony was superb!
LOWS
Very few....
Queuing for 20 minutes in the Hogshead only to be refused as we looked under 40!!! We had told the kids to find a table - perhaps if they had been with us he would not have asked - especially as we saw him ask nobody else - I was livid at the time as they 3 people ahead of us were not asked. We then left and bought a couple of Budweiser from a drinks cart just outside the Harry Potter area - no questions asked.
Pathetic I know - but it warrants a mention - the breakfast on the BA flight coming back - the Steward actually said - I am embarrased to serve this - it was an egg & bacon muffin that resembled a solid stale scone!!
Will add some pictures and do an evaluation of our food later this week.
Thanks for all the help on here that made this an amazing holiday!
