DH, DD(4) and I just spend a long weekend at All Star Music. I've stayed at almost every Disney resort at one time or another and I have to rank this as one of our best stays ever.:thumbsup2

Because of the way I made the reservation I ended up having to check in 2 times. No wait at 12:30am and no wait at 9:00am.

We were in building 8 and although it's not the closest building to the main pool and food court area, it was sure nice an quiet...and the walk was really nothing. We stayed at Pop Century back in March and it was such a loooong walk to ANYthing, we won't stay there again it was just too inconvenient.

The room was clean, they brought us extra towels and an extra blanket within 10 mintues of our call. We had those towel animal things and they posed DD's stuffed dog with a drawing that "he made" and crayons...very cute.:cloud9:

The food court was good. Even super picky DH says he gained weight on this trip. Like some of the other resorts, they have a table set up for the kids to color which is always a lifesaver for parents and fun for the kids.:woohoo: Lots of old refillable mugs from other resorts were in use.;)

We used the pool bar...drinks were good and not watered down.

We had our own car so I can't comment on the transportation.

The game room was a nice size and had games for everyone. DD traded in her tickets for various silly prizes.:confused3

The one thing that made the stay was the activities they are now doing (on a limited time basis I understand) around the pool area. It was nearly impossible to tear DD away to do anything park related. They had dance parties, games, bingo, trivia, and a movie. We already decided that we would choose a resort that offered these activities next time we stay. It really changed our vacation...we spent ALOT more time at the resort and took the parks at a more liesurely pace. I really hope they continue the program!!

The only "bad" was my own fault. We forgot DD's stuffed dog at the hotel. He must have been hiding under the covers. We didn't realize until bedtime after we got back home. I called Lost & Found and they assured me they will try to locate him, but that it could take a few days because he probably went with the laundry. DD was pretty upset, but we are still holding out hope.

Would be happy to answer any questions.

We're staying at AS Music for the first time next year and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay there. Thanks for the trip report!

I'm sorry to hear about your dd's stuffed dog. I hope they can find it.

I would love it if everyone who recently stayed at AS Mu (or any of the All Stars) would take the time to give WDW some positive feedback about the pilot programs they are currently running. Maybe if enough feedback is given, the programs will stay.

We were at All Star Music from 9/13 to 9/25 and we, too, had a wonderful experience.

I was so worried about staying at ASMu, but I'm already booked for another stay next September. We were in building 6. We didn't really mind the walk, but I'm booked for building 1 for our next stay.

We loved it! It was extremely clean. The staff was nice. We didn't have any problems eating at the food court. We also spent a lot of time at the resort...a lot more than I anticipated. I loved the pool activities. I hope it will be like that next year.

The transportation was so/so. It seemed like we picked the wrong line every day. If we were going to Magic Kingdom on Monday, we would have to wait 15 to 20 minutes for our bus and Epcot would have 3 buses while we waited. If we decided to do Epcot the next day, we would have to wait for our bus while Magic Kingdom had 3 buses. It happened practically every single day like that.

All in all, we had an awesome stay! I loved it.

I am so glad you liked the Activities Program.I thought the way they show the movies by the pool was so much fun.:)Although this is only a Pilot Program currently only at All-Star Music and the Yacht and Beach Club, there are rumors that if Guest response is positive, the Program may become permanent and expand to all WDW resorts!:) I hope it stays-it created the most fun atmosphere I have ever experienced at a WDW resort.Even when not hanging around the pool area,it was a fun area to just walk through on the way to and from the bus stops, etc.:)

Welcome back!

I'm glad to hear about your good time at ASMu. Sounds like a great resort for the price.

Sorry about your daughter's stuffed dog. It will probably turn up. :)

We were there last week, and we really enjoyed the dancing and movies by the pool!

We did not like the walk to Country Fair... We booked Movies Preferred next year! Music preferred looked too noisy to us being in front of the guitar pool!

We also love ASMU, its a great resort. I am so glad you had a great trip, and I really hope your dd's stuffed dog finds its way home!:wizard:

curious here! what movies did they show and what kind of screen did they use?

Let's let Disney know we like this new program and we want it to continue and expand to the other resorts as well!

Thanks ........And......
Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

WOW that is amazing stuff! I just emailed them saying it is a wonderful idea and please expand it to the POP and other resorts! Now I am seriously considering changing to ASMu just for this! Any ideas if it will be going on in January?

We stayed @ ASMu for 2 nights in a family suite after our DVC stay last week.

The room was very tastefully decorated, and very clean. The resort was fun as well. My kids loved the activities at the pool. We participated in the scavenger hunt which was loads of fun. My kids had a great time at the pool, and DS and I even did the "Cha cha slide" together at the dance party.

I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Thanks for the email address for Disney...I just emailed them and let them know how much we enjoyed the new activities. I really hope they continue it...especially in the warm months (being a Floridian, I'm not so sure we would be participating in the winter!).

Also, thanks for all the well wishes for finding "doggie".

Linda, I wanted to thank you for providing the appropriate email address to contact WDW about the pilot recreation programs. We haven't stayed at ASMu yet, but I still sent an email that said that I read about the programs and that they sound like fun and I hope they will consider making those activities a permanent part of their resort. I'm glad to see that other people are writing to WDW, too.

I just emailed Disney about the activites program. I hope I'll be able to enjoy on my next visit. Im going from Nov 28 to Dec4 . Thanks for all the info and positive feedback about All star Music it will be our first time staying there.

Welcome back and what a great review! The AllStar resorts, and Pop, offer alot for the money. Keep checking on that stuffed dog!

We were at AsMu 9/28 to 10/1. It was great. We enjoyed the decor. CMs very friendly & efficient at check-in. We were in Bldg 6 and loved the quiet. We got towel animals. The food court was fine. Kids played bingo & had a good time with the poolside music. We might have watched a movie but didn't want to keep the kids up that late with a big day coming up next. Buses ran very well for us. Waited just a few minutes each morning.

We were also very pleased that when we left MGM on Sat night, we had our own bus while AsMo and AsSp shared a bus. Their line was WAY longer. (But they did load 2 buses at once.)

When I called to make this reservation, I had wanted POP. But could not get the AAA discount there. CM offered me AsMu and AsSp and I didn't know which to choose. Finally, he decided "AsMu." So THANK YOU to that CM for putting me into this resort.

Thank you for the trip report and the great info on the activities by the pool. The parks arent open as late when we are going and it will be great if my son can look forward to watching a movie when we get back, and OUTSIDE! He loves the drive in here, so sitting by a pool will be very cool!

I will also email disney in advance about hearing about the activities and what a great idea I think it is and make sure that when we return, I email them again and tell them how we enjoyed them.

Thank you too for the positive comments on ASMu because I am usually reading negative comments and was getting worried about staying there.

We usually stay at the Wilderness and this time we needed to downsize our trip because it is kind of a last moment decision to go. I keep saying we dont spend that much time in the rooms anyway. The other thing I am worried about is the transportation, I have heard bad things about that too. It is nice to read here about good experiences. I am a glass half full person and always try to make the best of a situation, so I figure if we have a few extra mins, it is no big deal, we are on vacation and what are we in a hurry for?

I received a reply today from WDW concerning the email I sent them about the pilot program (movies, games, etc.) at All Star Music. I said that the programs sound like they would be fun and that I would like to see them permanently scheduled at the All Stars. This was the reply:

>>>>Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

There is a test or a pilot program going on at Disney's All Star Music
Resort that is in a test mode. This program will only occur for a stort
time.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It sounds like the pilot might not be staying much longer, but I do hope they'll try it again sometime.
