It was a great trip! Noel and Vickie, our dinner servers, were superb. We flew from Texas to Seattle then to Bellingham WA. It was a lot cheaper for us to do it this way than straight into Vancouver. We were a party of 9 so the savings really added up.

The plan was to take Amtrak from Bellingham to Vancouver. Amtrak was running 2 hours late and was still not there! :guilty: Fortunately we had arranged for Evergreen Town Car to pick us up in Vancouver upon debarking at the end of our cruise. We called then and they picked us up within an hour and took us to the pier with plenty of time to spare. They were professional and funny making a stressful change of plans into a delightful car ride. I am pretty sure they service Seattle as well.

I highly recommend Evergreen Town Car if you need ground transportation to and from Vancouver.
I also recommend if you are not flying into Vancouver to consider Bellingham instead of Seattle.

Have a great trip!!

What excursions did you do? What ages are your kids? What was your favorite meal?

We did not do any of the DCL excursions. We wanted more flexibility. My boys are 3 and 9. In Skagway we walked around the town on our own, in Juneau we went to the salmon farm and did the tramway (both were high points of the trip), in Ketchikan we saw totem poles. My favorite meal was the Tate of Alaska. This was our 6th cruise so we have high expectations having been treated so well in the past. All the food was very good.

Thanks! My kids will be similar in age to yours when we go to Alaska next year. I can't wait! :)

We are planning on taking the amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver probably 2 days prior. The times I wanted now all of a sudden are gone.. a year in advance? So weird. Did you do coach or business.... the price seems to be the same.. Not sure what to do.

Not sure about the train... back up plan is the bus.... Quick Shuttle offers 6 to 7 daily trips to meet your schedule.

The Alaskan cruise is so awesome. We had a blast on ours on the 8/3-8/10/15 sail dates. For those asking about excursions, you can click on my link below for pictures. I want to go back already.

Okay, I'm so sorry, I just have to say this: you went to the Salmon Hatchery (DIPAC) in Juneau. Salmon Farming is illegal in Alaska. :) I just had to put that out there.
