DH and I took advantage of Disney's Visa $99/two bedroom this weekend. It was a no kids weekend. We flew into Savannah while friends drove and met us at the resort on Saturday 2/19. We checked in around 1pm and had the choice of buildings 16, 28, or a smoking marsh view. Since we stayed in 16 last trip and wanted nonsmoking, we chose building 28 (2823).
Here are a few of the highlights:
Very nice late lunch outside at Salty Dog.
B'Lou Crabbe's magic show (packed with kids but we still enjoyed it).
Fresh baked cookies in the lobby.
$15 length of stay bike rentals.
Meeting lots of people in the hot tub.
A delicious, relaxing, late meal at Old Oyster Factory.
Talking to Gordon everyday at the Merchantile.
Getting away from the cold in PA.
100% capacity, but not feeling crowded.
Guiseppe's Pizza (again) .
DH got to golf at Shipyard.
Okay stuff:
DH and I are water/beach people so if I had to choose between June and February, I would choose June. I love the heat.
Lunch at Crazy Crab (okay but typical fried seafood)
Missing our kids (we still had a great time, but we also enjoy sharing HH with our teen DS).
Very limited beach house hours and ativities.
Only able to spend a short amount of time at the beach (yea, I know-it is Febraury!
)
Not so good:
No Private Affair
The flight from Atlanta to Harrisburg-we were to arrive in Harrisburg at 9pm, instead it was after midnight, and finally home in bed by 2:30am. Up for work at 5:45 am.
Not having reservations to go back yet
I am sure DH will come home and remind me of all the things I missed in this post. If you have any questions, please ask!
