Wife and I just returned from our Halloween trip to WDW. Had a great time. Four of us went, three adults and one child. Stay was at the Boardwalk because we enjoy being able to get to two of the parks quickly. It was the first trip for one of the adults and the child so the wife and I packed all we could in on the four days they stayed with us of the trip. Drove most of the way from GA. the 8th and stopped for the night an hour or so short of WDW. Finished the trip early on the 9th and with luck the room was ready before 9 that morning so we were checked in and at Epcot by 9am. We rode and saw most everything including a little tasting of foods from the Food and wine festival before our dinner reservation at the Land at 4:15. Did the character dinner there and went back to the park and finsihed out anything we had missed that morning untill Illuminations at 9pm. Then we headed back to the Boardwalk get ready for MK the next day.
MK was open till 1AM on the 10th so we started out with breakfast at the Crystal Palace and got in another character meal, also we were in the park before it opened. Rode and saw almost everything except the Tea cups and Stitch. Some things twice. Caught all the parades including Spectro and watched the fireworks. Back to the Boardwalk that night to get ready for Hollywood Studios on the 11th.
On the 11th we took the boat to HS and started the day with the main attractions then continued untill the day was gone. Saw the new block party parade but it made me miss the old Stars and Cars one that I enjoyed more. Ended the day with the 9pm Fantasmic and took the boat back to plan for the next day.
The 12th was Animal Kingdom. My favorite park. Straight to the back first thing to catch the animals out on the morning ride then to Asia. Rest of the day was spenting riding or watching all we could including a lunch at the Tusker House. Then it was parade time. We left the park a little before closing and took a bus to the Contemporary so we and our guests could catch a full ride on the monorail on our way to the Halloween party that night. We stayed at the party and got plenty of candy for the child. Lots of character pics also. Watched the parade and the fireworks but we rode very little. We had a hard time finding the Halloween pins but finally got them at the Jewelry store on Main street.
My wife and I stayed another night after our guests left on morning of the 13th. We moved to Animal Kingdom Lodge and stayed. We had never stayed there and been wanting to. We spent that day at AK and in the evening to to dinner in Epcot at the Rose and Crown.
We had a great time. I thought the crowds were light but the heat was a little more than I had expected. Times to ride were short even with no fast pass except for the newer 4d thing at HS. Looking forward to our next trip. It was our first time using the dining plan. It was easy to use but I have never had so many desserts in my life. Found out to late you could sub bottled water for the dessert as I was told that by a cashier.
Sorry if this does not read well It is my first try at posting here.
