Ok, I've seen people's rants about reservation changing and trying to put together the best trip, etc. and now it's my turn...

We were originally going to BLT for 8 nights and bringing MIL/FIL for the first 4 (in seperate studios). Since we've added on points at AKV, we were contemplating upgrading to a 1BR when the 7 month window opened. After looking at the points, it was actually cheaper to have her mom for the full time and go with a 2BR.

My initial plan was to book the first 6 nights with our BLT points and wait for the 7 month window to hit the 7th night. Then I realized, if we do a split stay we could do 1/2 at BLT and 1/2 at AKV and still stay go for the full 8 nights, and we could get everything booked right away!

So, yesterday I call up and book the 2BR (dedicated) at BLT, had to get a lake view (no standards left, decided to sit on the view for now and maybe add WL later) and booked a 2BR (dedicated) at Kidani. All set. Perfect. So now, here is where the fun begins...

Thinking about AKL, I realized, MIL and FIL have some issues walking and after lots of it at the parks... what if we are far from the pool? What about getting back from Jambo when we do Boma? (forgot about DTD bus). So, I asked my wife...maybe we should switch to Jambo? Our first Disney stay was at Kidani and we did want to try out Jambo. Anyway, when all is said and done, we're now in a lock-off 2BR standard at Jambo. I also added the wait-list for the BLT standard view.

So now, the outstanding issues... will we regret MIL/FIL having their own queen beds in a dedicated? Will we regret not having the extra bathroom (found this out after, still have not mentioned to DW yet..) Will we miss the zero-entry pool awesomeness at Kidani? I'm also worrying about if I should have specified dedicated for the 2BR standard waitlist at BLT.

So, here's the part where you guys come in. Should I be calling up and changing back to Kidani? Should I leave things alone? Am I going to love Jambo? What does everyone else do when they are questioning their reservation choices?

Thanks in advance :)

;)My parents joined us at Kidani in Oct. We were in the first bead and they were in the 6th bead and that was after requesting to be close to lobby:guilty: Of course it was never guaranteed. My mother is 68 and my father is 74. They did fine and do not need a scooter or anything. Yes we joked how far it was for them but they just hung out in our room and it was fine. I think no matter where you are there could always be issues.

I am sure you MIL/FIL just appreciate being asked to come along. My parents did great in the queen bed and LOVED their SV studio. We also have a trip planned with my MIL(69). She goes with us usually every year unless my parents go. She always gets her own studio. This year we will have 2 vlue studios at Jambo for the first time staying there. I explained that the room would be smaller but still have same amenities. She was good to go and just appreciates us giving her the room.

I think you are just over thinking a bit becasue you want it to be a special trip. They WILL love it regardless of where they sleep. I mean BLT and AKV are perfect from different reasons. You did fine and the inlaws will love you for it.

:) I really think the inlaws will prefer the lockoff so they will have their own door to come and go as they please--with their own room key. If they have issues just order a scooter and it will be delivered to and picked up from the resort. My Dad thinks he may need one when he visits in his 80s

They will have more room and their own fridge and stuff--the best of both worlds--with you guys but yet have their own space. You did good.

:) I know this is the third response but I mean Jambo is awesome. There is the great lobby, cool music, vibrant atmosphere, indoor stream with that huge picture window overlooking a savanna. Then the food is right there with a nice large gift shop. Then the landscaping is mature around the pool and then there is that relaxing stream again and Mara for a drink. My parents loved Boma buy the way. OK I must go back to work now. I hope I helped you fill better.
