I'm back. If you really want to see the story, highlight below.
The rain crossed my wires so the DSL was not working. Then the SBC (AT&T) guy could not come until tuesday. Then he said our cross connect was at the DSL substation (by then I was really mad) and the technichians there left at 5 (it was 7 when he announced this) so he could not get it running until the next day.
So here I am. Back and now I can't get VMK working!
Oh well. It will work sooner or later.
