If I may barge in on the Weddings board for a moment, someone suggested I repost here . . . . :)

I'm planning my sister in law's bachelorette for 6 ladies. The group includes the MOB and MOG, the bride, myself, 1 friend of the bride, and the groom's sister (who is only 20).

To save money, we're staying at a DTD hotel and not going into any of the parks. Saturday morning will either be Kona Cafe or quick breakfast at DTD. Then the day is open. Bride wants to wander DTD shops, maybe play mini golf. Dinner at 6:45 at Il Mulino. Probably heading to Poly that night for Wishes viewing and maybe a drink at Tambu lounge. (Bride is young (22) and not a huge drinker, but the real problem is the 20 year old for that sort of thing - no Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance). Back to DTD after fireworks.

Sunday is Chef Mickey's brunch at 11 and the rest of the day open until we leave to drive home.

My question is - I've been to Disney so much, but DTD is my least familiar place. I'm wondering if I'm missing suggestions for DTD?
Is there enough to occupy us just wandering around on Saturday? Window shopping and ice cream only go so far!
So for all those DTD experts - or bachelorette experts - any suggestions that I'm missing?
Any interesting hotel bars where the 20 year old can still join us unlike Jellyrolls?
Finally, budget is really the main concern for not doing more.

Thanks!

You could do tea in the grand floridian to break up the afternoon. Maybe go for a ride in the hot air balloon in DTD.

Splitsville is being built in DTD. I'm not sure when it is opening up. It's an upscale bowling alley.

Just a side note suggestion-Yeeha bob Jackson plays most tues-sat (I believe) at the river roost lounge at port Orleans riverside. It's in a lounge/bar situation and there is bar service but all ages can attend and it is a really fun piano playing participation show and wouldbe a really fun, budget friendly, age open way to end the night. Google hi
- he is one of disney's best kept secrets! No joke!

He played our wedding! :thumbsup2

I'd like to know the answre to this too

My DSD will be 18 when we get married, and would like to to be able to join us for the party atmosphere, but I'm unsure of US rules - will she be allowed into, say, jellyrolls, but not allowed to drink?

Both Atlantic Dance Hall and Jellyrolls are 21 and over. In DTD there are restaurants/bars with music nightly- House of Blues, Paradiso 37 and Raglan Road. I've only been to Paradiso for dinner, so I can't speak to the kind of atmosphere these would have later at night. Since they are restaurants having people under 21 shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks all!
The hot air balloon has made my list as an option.
Splitsville won't be open yet.
The bride unfortunately isn't a fan of high tea! I took her when she visited me, and it just wasn't her cup of tea. :(
DisneyQuest will burst the budget a tad. :(
Thanks for the Bob Jackson tip! Googling now . . .
And I think I will keep House of Blues and Raglan Rd in my back pocket for late night.

Yeah Bob is amazing and a lot of fun! You can catch a ferry from DTD to POR to see him and back again. For my hen's night we were the only group on the ferry and pretty much spent the whole trip chanting the drivers name, no reason, but it sure was funny

We ended up at Raglan Road at the end of the night, there were live musicians playing there, and while it's not a dance club, we still managed to dance around the tables :rolleyes1

Also for the day time, does your budget allow to going to one of the spas? Massages, manicures, pedicures etc? I think I got a manicure done at the yacht club - which may have been a bit pricey, but was the best one I've ever had - likewise my DM, DS and I got pedicures at I think Saratoga Springs, and they were able to do all 3 of us at once, and were lovely ladies! You could also check offsite for these sorts of services.

Not to be repetative but I just HAVE to chime in and agree that River Roost Lounge and Yeeha Bob would be a fabulous choice for your event! Like others have said, all ages can attend but it IS a bar so anyone of age can have as many drinks as they want. When we first went we were all over 21 but there were people of all ages watching and truly enjoying Bob's show. There's LOTS of fun audience participation and it will make for an extremely memorable night for everyone in your party. :goodvibes
